Heya, I liked the mod. Wanted to ask though, is it possible to make a patch for advanced wind turbines from VFE power? The mod causes them to have the same area(4x4 behind 8x4 front) as the vanilla turbines, while they are of a different size(2x3).

@SaMaHaJoGu you can't have walls, trees, roofs, other wind turbines and a few other "tall" things in the exclusion zone in front of and behind wind turbines. The exclusion zone is highlighted when you select a wind turbine, and it will also tell you in the info down the bottom left what is blocking the turbine if it is being blocked.

@Yo I started with Greenworld light and replaced the soil and soilrich textures with tweaked ones.

Yup. And then when I remove the walls on the right-most side (the side where the turbines aren't working because they're being blocked by walls), the turbines start working. I feel like regular turbines could be encased by walls? I don't remember, for some reason... goes to show how long I've been using aligned turbines! LOL

I'm getting a bug where if you build 2 of them side by side and then you incase those two inside walls, only 1 of them is working and the other is blocked by wall(s). And if you build 4 facing each other, and encase them inside a larger area of walls, only 2 of them registers as functional and the other 2 are being blocked by wall(s).

Can you make a version for the geothermal generator? it feels one tile too tall and it has thrown a wrench into my designs every single time because it's always bigger than i expect it to be

i am having the same issue as vitaminmaxer and ive tried unsubscribing and resubscribing to the mod, not sure if it actually causes any issues but i just noticed the error

@vitaminMaxer unsubscribe and resubscribe, that looks very similar to the error when the 1.4 assembly is used with 1.5 and the way of access TweakValues has changed.

@Guccio load order isn't important, provided it's loaded after Harmony which will be enforced by the dependency anyway. It won't conflict with mods that affect aspects of the turbine other than size.

NVM, I found the problem. When use with Vanilla Expand: Power, only the "Advance Wind Turbine" will change to 2x2 slot (with bug graphic), and the others lower tier turbine will stay 4x2.

Yeah, only the texture is change, the turbine still occupy 4x2 area.

I hate to add to the quagmire but I'm a big fan ot Advanced Power Plus, and I'd love to see the advanced wind and solar generators aligned.

I haven't looked at all at the XML-changing functionality in Hugslib, but I wonder if you could use that to make these changes apply to anything that has the original dimensions and has "solar generator" or "wind generator" in its name?

Could use a submod for Dubs Hygiene's Wing Pumps that are turbines that draw up water from wells.

that could maybe inline them with same size as the adv.solar panel size in VE-power mod
could really simplify pre-building + upgrading them

i kinda wish VE-Power gave a option to just upgrade current solar/wind stations so u didnt have to totally rebuild them.

Bugs me a bit that the keep-clear zone size isn't XML-defined. There are a bunch of things like that that just so obviously should be XML but are for no readily apparent reason in the C# code instead. The C# side isn't *difficult*, but it's still definitely an order of magnitude higher barrier of entry to modding something than Xpath patching.

@selest19 you can fork the mod and do it that way if you prefer; the xml changes are easy and the source code for the assembly (keep-clear zone size & blade size) is included with the mod.
