System.InvalidOperationException: No component named 'Turret' in part 'tankiflo.plasmathrower_deck'. I get this Error Message. I have several other Mods so i assume it could be a compatibility problem? It happens when i try to place the Deck Plasma Thrower.

It spits out an oxygenated fuel stream, that's how it burns in space. Should call out an OxyFlame thrower.

but in all seriousness, you can easily make a material burn in space, see rocket engines - they work in the vacuum of space by injecting fuel and oxides really fast(making it no longer the vacuum of space) or used oxidized fuels(same thing but without mixing first).
you just need some viscus material like oil that is oxidized in some method and you can light it up pretty nicely and make it a flamethrower.
I would say coloring the flame green would do better than blue as a reference to Greek Fire, one of the oldest flame weapons in Naval combat history. and Greek fire was notoriously inextinguishable by water, so what is the vacuum of space gonna do about that?

I'd try it out now but I have a prem rental on War Thunder for 11 hours so it'll be a while before I get around to it

I think its as simple as a version compatibility issue, from what I've seen a few of the mods I'm subbed to have the same issue

The recent update (from what i've seen in the comments of a few other updated mods) changed something critical, I don't know what exactly breaks but if i enable this mod it crashes before it even shows me the loading screen

Hey, I'm having some weird interactions with this mod and my shields (including a bubble shield mod). Not only do they pierce shields, but they damage both the shields life pool and also the module itself. Like, the shield projector will take damage along with the integrity of the shield it's projecting.

While they are really cool and effective, I would use them more if they were balanced into not doing that weird double-damage thingy.

so i edited it a bit. in my opinion this is a long range weapon so i increase the range similar to my big turrents and make it bit faster cause how it is original it looks bit strange. i use alot of them now. around 30+looks really nice

I mean, you could always say "we're basically just hosing enemies down with highly oxidized metal slurry." since that's the 'basic' principle behind how thermite is able to burn in a near complete vacuum, why not bend the physics of it a bit to allow it to work in deepspace.

makes more sense than having to carry highly volatile powercells from your reactor to your systems and not needing a life support system inside your ships. whatever happened to shipwide internal wiring? the light's and doors seem to work just fine, even without a reactor core...

i saw u added roof version. will def use them. just for the animation its already worth. looks pretty cool

Glad my joke inspired, kinda wish i didnt have things to do later as i want to test out the plasma ones now. Had an idea on making a small fighter like ship and calling it my "fire fighter" to kite bigger ships with this mod.

I'd have to take a look at career unlocks. Plasma costs Hypercoils instead of normal ones

could we get some cost adjustment for these? Plasma throwers should be at least a smidge more expensive if they're just Better

And the fact that it can penetrate shields is intentional, I dunno how they canonically work so I said "hey funny flame go brr"
