Sorry, it conflicted with an origin in another mod which caused it to not work correctly. The two used to work fine together, so I think the new update's changes to the pop system are to blame.

What is broken? Does the trait not dissapear? Does it not merge species?
King of Winter 21. juni kl. 15:21
doesn't seem to have worked on my most recent save. not sure what's up.
Frettchen 12. juni kl. 0:38
most important mod ever for roleplay
NotCope 31. maj kl. 12:38
if i do lost colony for all of them (hence commonwealth of man) will they all see the one who doesnt have it as homeworld, such as the united earth? @xyre

Should be fixed for game start conditions. I added an event that removes those traits after a day of ingame time if they weren't removed previously.
SVyrus 7. maj kl. 13:26
It appears that using the nascant stage trait, the mod will not remove the traits from your pre-sapient pops. (I also noticed this for the diaspora mod!)

You might want to make it more clear, since I only see it now after having it be confirmed and it almost messing up my playthrough's RP
Xyre  [ophavsmand] 26. jan. kl. 4:25
Yes. They are exclusive to eachother as they do different things. Universal Abspecies ignores species restrictions as it is supposed to be used with species from different species classes and mods, while the regular abspecies variant is used for regular species classes.
BroncoXeno2035 25. jan. kl. 19:05
Are Abspecies and Universal Abspecies exclusive to each other? Because I have an empire of each type and they're showing up as different species entirely.
Xyre  [ophavsmand] 21. dec. 2024 kl. 10:38
Should be fixed now.
Hishi Miracle 20. dec. 2024 kl. 12:17
`gender = indeterminable` is missing from all robot species in overwritten prescripted_countries (the same goes for Far From Home mod).
Xyre  [ophavsmand] 17. aug. 2024 kl. 14:14
It works the same way it would if you set up a fanatic purifier with the lost colony origin and met your home empire.
BroncoXeno2035 17. aug. 2024 kl. 13:43
But FP won't be auto War to other members?
Xyre  [ophavsmand] 17. aug. 2024 kl. 7:48
They wouldn't like eachother, unless they are both fanatic purifiers.
BroncoXeno2035 16. aug. 2024 kl. 14:50
What happens if one of the races is Fanatic Purifiers and meets a race with same Abspecies trait but nothing else the same?
ParadoxicalOutcome 4. apr. 2024 kl. 7:17
One thing that I really love about this mod is that I can make the second species from Syncretic Evolution a subspecies of the main one by giving them both the same Abspecies trait. This allows for so many more roleplay options, it's crazy that it's not allowed in the base game.
Xyre  [ophavsmand] 5. mar. 2024 kl. 0:49
Unfortunately not. The issue of portrait duplicates is an old problem with Stellaris. You could put a bug report on the paradox forum and hoping that someone finally fixes it.
ersatzCossack 2. mar. 2024 kl. 3:34
can this be used at all after game start? i usually only run into this issue when the AI picks the same portrait as one of my premades or me.
Xyre  [ophavsmand] 15. jan. 2024 kl. 16:24
Custom races as in modded species? Depends. If they are using the already existing species classes there should be no problem. If not, there would need to be a patch made or you'd need to use the universal traits as they don't use species class to determine groups.
Ulthar 15. jan. 2024 kl. 16:14
how does this work with custom races in the game?
G marceau 11. jan. 2024 kl. 11:05
thank you !
Eppela 7. juni 2023 kl. 1:42
LIFESAVER! 🙏🙏🙏Very good mod especially now, because the whole human thing is bugged again. It's great to make different human or elf empires etc, with slightly different portraits but they all are the same subspecies. Thanks.
Xyre  [ophavsmand] 6. juni 2023 kl. 2:03
Yes, it works with every player made species on game start, but it does not work on randomly generated species.
Apostle 6. juni 2023 kl. 0:13
Does this work with Gestalt empires?
Porter 15. feb. 2023 kl. 20:57
would this works with the random primitives that spawn in the galaxy im guressing it wouldnt because of limitations but thougt i should just ask
Namazuo "Horse Poop" Toushiro 7. feb. 2023 kl. 12:02
waited so long for someone to make a mod like this
greensniperhat 4. feb. 2023 kl. 8:23
Hmm, then adding two more Universal trait would be good, I think.
Xyre  [ophavsmand] 4. feb. 2023 kl. 5:36
The non-universal abspecies traits already cover that ground. As they don't work across species classes. You can have each species have an Alpha Abspecies trait but be in different species classes, and they won't merge, that is the purpose of the Universal traits. So at the moment there are 12 species classes and 4 non-universal abspecies traits giving us 48 possible groupings, When you add the 4 universal ones you get 52 possible groupings. The non-universal traits were designed to minimize clutter because having 48 different versions of them would be overkill. The universal traits in turn exist to allow for more flexibility across the various species classes and to account for mods that don't make use of the vanilla species classes.

I just want to avoid overdoing it by adding too many traits that won't be used.
greensniperhat 4. feb. 2023 kl. 2:44
Perhaps one per vanilla organic species class?
So Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Epsilon, Sigma, Omega would do for now?
Xyre  [ophavsmand] 3. feb. 2023 kl. 21:14
Next update it should be doubled. I can add as many as you want, but the question is how many linked pairs/groups would you think to be necessary? Because I don't want to clutter the trait selection screen with additional unnecessary traits.
greensniperhat 1. feb. 2023 kl. 4:07
Are there plans to add more abspecies traits? As in, not just Alpha and Omega, but also Beta, Gamma, Epsilon etc - since there might be more 'linked pairs' of races than just two in our playthroughs...
Xaelyn 10. jan. 2023 kl. 23:54
Thanks for this, was looking for something to allow syncretic and necrophage secondaries to be a subspecies like they used to, and this looks to allow that and then some.
Xyre  [ophavsmand] 5. dec. 2022 kl. 3:45
Yes, they don't need to share any trait except for the Abspecies trait (And in certain cases species class) for it to work.
Bay Harbor Bigback 5. dec. 2022 kl. 1:51
You said that the two species need all the same traits but that isn't the case in the example? Can they have separate traits and still be subspecies?
