Are pandemics really in the game?
kreaturen 26. jan. 2015 kl. 13:43
I didn't know this, but turns out that the civ5mod package is actually just a common 7zip file. So those of you who have the same problem as me, where the mod is downloaded but not read, can just manually change the file-extention from civ5mod to 7z and extract it manually. Then you wil find it selectable in game. The package may possibly be broken since it wasn't read automatically, but I haven't tested it yet. The sewer icon did appear in the tech-tree though.
kreaturen 26. jan. 2015 kl. 13:20
Hmm...The civ5mod package appear in the mod folder, but it isn't read or compiled by the game for some reason.

The download and subscription still don't work. I'll try to unsubscribe and just start with the download.
Ulixes 31. aug. 2014 kl. 12:51
Giving credit, of course.
Ulixes 31. aug. 2014 kl. 12:50
My compliments, good idea, Sewers are really a missing element in Civ V.
I'm building an huge overhaul of Civ V and I've created sewers too but I need a proper Icon. I really like yours, I ask permission to use it.
Sheph 27. aug. 2014 kl. 19:28
Thanks. Sewers were critical steps in the growth of great cities like Rome. Even today cities have to dig up and replace ancient sewers to keep things liveable. You might have them earlier or have them be strategic for certain cities in certain locations

Erocco 12. aug. 2014 kl. 18:05

tof1998 12. aug. 2014 kl. 4:32

Erocco 8. aug. 2014 kl. 23:31

Sweet. Now that's the good innovation. You're the genius. Sid Meier and Firaxis has lack of ideas and innovations. They need to improve Civilization and use the imagination to make more realisic and historical accuracy. Sid Meier and Firaxis need to look up the internet and research the history, technology, culture, and other famous from the past so the gameplay will be better.

Hey mate, I love your mods and some people at Civ5 subreddit /r/civ would love to see a building geared towards science in Tundra, snow and Ice tiles, referencing the multiple research outposts in Antarctica. The bonuses could work in a way similar to universities and jungle tiles. As jjSyndic in this reddit post pointed it would make some start biases more tolerable.
Here is the post that sparked the idea:
http://www.reddit.com/r/civ/comments/2ccx24/a_fun_little_endgame_project_colonising_the/

It's a very good idea to spice ice tiles a bit and I would love to use it and I'm sure it's not only me.

Thanks!

Some good research in the subject

can you provide a direct link to the mod? My Mac version does not download automatically
Mazurkapojken 1. aug. 2014 kl. 8:08
I think that it's rather well balanced. Thanks!

I'd be slightly worried if my sewage system brought me 10% more food, but okay.
Phothiabea 30. juli 2014 kl. 7:39
How does this work out with the medical center? Does it need now the sewerage?
Ibn Khaldun 29. juli 2014 kl. 19:01
@Ark Rotarl: well.. so I waited over 30 minutes, but it didn't appear. Should I wait more?
ARKYmouse 29. juli 2014 kl. 17:34
@keroro333: It takes a little time for the mods to fill up your list. Just wait on your mods list in-game for a bit and Steam should start installing them.
Vroke 29. juli 2014 kl. 13:05
Awesome!
Mr. Huckleberry 28. juli 2014 kl. 16:56
+1 for making a sewer mod. lol
Ibn Khaldun 28. juli 2014 kl. 7:25
I downloaded all of your mods but why does it not appears in mods category?
mss73055 28. juli 2014 kl. 6:58
Thank you for building this. Lack of this city improvement in Civ 5 puzzled me. In previous versions of Civ cities could not grow past 12 until this improvement got built.
Slender Nipples 27. juli 2014 kl. 21:47
good mod
ARKYmouse 27. juli 2014 kl. 16:31
@Paradroid: I think one of the more well-known sewer systems predating even the birth of Christ was the Etruscan's Cloaca Maxima. An underground system that flowed the wastewaters and urban runoff of Rome into the Tiber River. The system had much potential, but much was wasted due to incompitent use of the tunnels and systems installed by the Etruscans. They had to rely on their aqueducts to flush out these systems just to prevent disease from affecting the populace BECAUSE of their own sewer systems and the exposure vents along streets.

Hard to say what kind of name to use for these earlier designs other than simply calling them "Sewers", plain and simply.
The Skinwalker From Corporate. 27. juli 2014 kl. 16:09
but the romans had sewage maybe you can make multiple throught the ages ?
Rygel 27. juli 2014 kl. 14:45
For this to work the food carried over by aqueducts would need to be reduced.
rotesfahrrad. 27. juli 2014 kl. 13:46
good idea, but I'd like to support the case for increasing maintenance costs (or decrease happiness to +1) plus rethink the name. (like Qwertaz and Tallestbuffalo noted)
brandman 27. juli 2014 kl. 12:29
@American Freedom fighter:

I doubt he's a native speaker. He read fighter as in a fighter plane, not as someone who fights for freedom.
DeviantTechnq 27. juli 2014 kl. 11:25
Mate, I like this idea, reminds of original Rome Total War, when severs where a nessecity.
And, good job on keeping it balanced, I must say, even a bit underpowered. The 10% sould be close to 25% though.
commiefilth 27. juli 2014 kl. 10:56
its a very smart idea, but it should start earlier, perhaps in the Classical Era, when Rome existed
Warwick🐺 27. juli 2014 kl. 7:40
People are getting too techogical on this subject..lol yeah sewers are way older than indrustirail era stuff, but so is basicly everything. Like in door pluming was made 1000s of years ago, and hell during the American Revoloution, Submarines were around, but was really shitty when it came to combat, so the Americans stop making/using them
Paradroid  [ophavsmand] 27. juli 2014 kl. 5:56
@Ark Rotarl and Qwertaz: sorry for my bad english, I appreciate every help, especially from native speakers.
I know there were earlier systems, but this mod is only about the underground system that were build in the industrial era. Maybe you can discuss the best name for it?
ARKYmouse 26. juli 2014 kl. 20:39
This looks like a wonderful mod. Just a tad confused on the wording. Sewerage... Never heard of it pronounced like that. I know sewage system or just plainly, sewers. And "epidimies". Do you mean epidemics?
Holden Ennis 2 26. juli 2014 kl. 10:59
I am sorry Henryh1, I do not understand your question about my steam name. I will tell you I am just using my steam name to show my loyalty to my country.

Have to agree with @Tallestbuffalo - this looks incredibly unbalanced!
Henryh1 26. juli 2014 kl. 1:34
@American Freedom fighter

Almost all of this inventions were invented at least twice. Some were abandoned and forgotten because they were useless. Are you some kind of Areoplane? It is question about your name :-).
sorry for mistakes :-)
andrewv94 25. juli 2014 kl. 16:59
good shit
Holden Ennis 2 25. juli 2014 kl. 16:45
Qwertaz is right, sewers were not invented in the industrial era AT ALL. We have had sewers since like, 3000s BCE. There should be two sewers, an classical era one, and a industrial era one.
PixelConglamorate 25. juli 2014 kl. 16:14
Logic: Food = Growth. Growth = More people. Sewer = Not sick from random feces. Not sick from random feces = Not dead from sickness. Not dead = More alive people.
Qwertaz 25. juli 2014 kl. 15:32
The name "sewerage" is a bit vague. Sewerage systems have been used in cities since the Indus Valley Civilization (3300-1300 BCE), way before the industrial era. A name like "sewerage treatment plant" would be better, as it would specifically apply to the technology you meant to represent, instead of being a broad desciption of something that has been used for millennia.
Doombull 25. juli 2014 kl. 14:08
I'd rather not think about where that food comes from.
MKULTRA 25. juli 2014 kl. 12:34
Soylent green is people!
tallestbuffalo 25. juli 2014 kl. 12:14
Only having to pay 1 gold maintenance for 2 happiness is extremely strong for a building. Also an additional 10% food carryover makes this building push the edge of overpowered. Please consider making this 2 gold maintenance for balance reasons.
