Because the old clothing (which is the gray and yellow stripes) is really referenced to Sir Pentious and it just doesn't feel really original. So when I made my actual objectsona (which was a blue bowtie, but now a blue striped night cap), I thought it'd be the perfect time to finally redesign him to make him related to my objectsona which is why now he is blue (Plus I made him more puppet-like lol)
