Can confirm that this mod doesn't work in 1.5. When I try to have a pawn chop a tree, they just spaz out in place and do nothing until I remove the order to chop the tree.

Anyone coming down to the comments too see if the mod is working, it is. Noone can seem to read the description to understand how to get it to work correctly. This is a reupload of an older mod, and the description of those mods give you the answer.

You're required to download any mod that will switch tools automatically for your pawns, there is one called pocket sand that works great for me.

same problem here, my pawn has an axe and a hammer in his inventory but i still have a message at the right of the screeen that this pawn is misssing the right toools

Does anyone that knows how to mod know where the code is that makes colonists automatically cut stumps?
I actually love stumps in games, as it shows what deforesting you've done... I know it's weird.

I've looked a bit with Notepad++ But can't figure it out, as I am dumb.

And/Or if the mod dev. could add a toggle in the settings would be really awesome!

@The Bread Stealer, if you get PUAH + Simple sidearms it will allow you to keep weapons in their inventory {both violent and non}

"Colonists lack tools" - okay, could you please remove this information? The colonists can do everything even without tools... yea... they do it slower, but they can do it... it's not like hunting, where they certainly NEED hunting tools / weapons. And there is another thing... colonists have limited carry weight by default. So every colonist can't carry all necessary tools with them, so the warning could go away...

Another suggestion:
The Primitive Hammer is supposed to allow mining, but the baseworkstatfactor doesn't set the right fields. Because a Hammer isn't optimal for mining anyway,

In the def "SurvivalTools_Primitive_Hammer"
Change:
<MiningSpeed>1</MiningSpeed>
To:
<DiggingSpeed>0.75</DiggingSpeed>
<MiningYieldDigging>0.5</MiningYieldDigging>

You can fix the not compatible with biotech by changing this block in StatPart_SurvivalTool.cs
It's probably overly ghetto, but I compared results to no survival tools mod, survival tools, then Hardcore enabled, it functions as intended without breaking other pawns.

Yo there is a glitch that gives pawns level 20 melee instantly if they attack with the tools. Idk how or why but kinda funny seeing the pawn go from 0 to 20 in 5 seconds

Just got a mech constructor in the Biotech expansion, and a constructor is supposed to build with the equivalent of 10 work skill. However, it keeps bungling construction and wasting resources -- turns out, with this mod installed, the No Tool modifier still applies to mechanoids,

Hardcore mod is mostly impossible if you don't start with tools in hands. Solution would be to make makeshift or very crude tools with just steel slag or stone chunks.

@lol Confirmed. I am even having lots of issues just with the base mod and not with the primitive mods. I started a discussion thread on it. This is not entirely due to mod conflicts.

Couple bug/compatibility reports:
- Primitive Tools mod requires Tree Chopping as a separate job, which breaks Survival Tools' Hardcore mode
- Tools from Power Tools and Primitive Tools mods are not considered "tools" as a category by Survival Tools

If you turn on the "Hardcore mode" in the options of this mod, then right-click menu will almost always have the unintuitive option "Cannot prioritize: incapable of manipulation". Commenting for others to google the solution here.

Won't add my tools to the inventory, only in hand. So If I have a weapon... like a bow or sword, my peeps can't carry any tools. And if I carry a tool I do not get any buffs

Without VWE's pickaxes, Rimworld is literally unplayable.

I have not yet really understood how or if the mod works for me, the labor speed or mining speed hasn't changed, even when using a masterfully crafted pickaxe (spawned via dev). I changed the equipment state (having equipped as gear or having only in inventory) and I changed the load order with Simple Sidearms because the tool switching from that mod doesn't work, too.
Tested it with a sickle too.
No errors in the log regarding this mod, hmm...

How does this work with Vanilla Expanded? There are few tools added there.
