Problem analysis

• GenDate.TicksToPeriod(long …) was added in RimWorld 1.4 / 1.5 with an explicit guard-clause: if the incoming tick count is negative,
it prints “Tried to calculate period for negative ticks”.
• A negative tick count is interpreted as “a date that lies in the future”, which should never exist for a pawn’s biological age.

How it is triggered

• HelpTab builds its in-game encyclopaedia during ResolveImpliedDefs.
• ToStringApproxAge converts the age back to ticks and feeds it into TicksToPeriod, which immediately detects the negative value and logs the error.

• Some mod has set a pawn’s birthAbsTicks to a value greater than the current game time (Find.TickManager.TicksAbs).
• Alternatively, the mod set RaceProperties.minAge to a negative or zero value, causing the calculated biological age to become negative.

i did some exam
it seems like almost every new unit from VFE:M have the loot
but it seems like Mechanoids swapped from vanilla one (like normal pikeman, lancer, scyther) are missing loots.
also, some mechanoids have wrong loot setting (for example, Enemy Inquisitor has no loot but Player controlled Inquisitor has loot)

1.5是什么冲突就得你自己排查了。
如果是头饰头盔,导致角色光头的话,倒是可以用AB's Head Apparel Tweaker解决。

I found Idearn_Critias(Tier V) has moving problem because of its skills, but don't know why. So I deleted some skills in 2871413100\1.5\Defs\RaceDefs\HAR_Idearn_Race_Critias.xml. Then My Critias-rim moves.

这个种族所需素材消失的原因大概率是因为“Mechanoids Extraordinaire”这个配套mod的作者还没更新到1.5版本,但是那个作者留言还没空更新,估计有一段时间这个机械种族的mod没法用了

I spawned Idearn pawn with character editor for test, and It seems like there are some bugs with the update. There is a texture error that decoration behind pawn move to the front part, and Tier IV and V Idearn can not move at all, please fix this

The mod Stylish Rim also lets you adjust the head and body size by a percentage. I set them to 110%-120% and they look roughly the same size as a vanilla pawn.

Anyone have an issue where the Idearn race characters are all smaller than my human pawns? Is it because of the body mod? I'm using compatible body.

Oh awesome, I added it like you instructed and it works. It also looks like the advanced walker mech patch works for me at least. I spawned in an Advanced Scyther to shred it and it produced Nomos cells as well.

But if I do run into any issues I at least know I can patch them individually now. Thanks a bunch ^^

Try adding the patch highlighted here [imgur.com]. It's a copy of the one just above it. This should work for the mechs you've encountered so far.

Essentially, this patches the parent node that scythers, lancers and a variety of other humanoid VFE mechs use. Therefore, it's not necessary to patch those mechs individually.

Note that Ayameduki's patch for the advanced walker mechs won't work as it's currently written, because that parent node has inheritance disabled for the butcherProducts node. Thus, the advanced mechs will need to be patched individually.

The entire patch file could stand to be rewritten for several reasons, unfortunately.

For me, its the FVE Scythers, Lancers, and Inquisitors, since those are the only FVE mechs I've encountered so far. I took a peek at the patch file since I didn't know it was so easily accessible and readable. I see only some VFE mechs are patched to drop Nomos Cells. Is that the same for your end? Or do I have an outdated mod?

Hmm. The buildings aren't in the patch file that accounts for VFE:M, but the mechanoids themselves should be accounted for. Which mechs, specifically, have you seen not producing Nomos cells?

According to the description, "Vanilla Factions Expanded - Mechanoids" mechs and buildings should drop Idearn materials, but they're not for me. Is it working for anyone else? I tried changing the load order but nothing seems to affect it.

製造上の不具合は、作者が服と設定した半製品の種類が原因のようです。
半製品の衣服の素材として使用される生産素材に適したリソースがないため、システムは素材をランダム化することしかできず、エラーが発生します。
少なくとも、半製品タイプを材料なしの半製品タイプ (部品の半製品など) に変更したところ、各 Idearnと素材を100 回テストして製造しましたが、バグはありません。

Ideasensors are by far the biggest bottleneck in the whole manufacturing process. Crafting 50 Ideasensors requires more Nomos cells, plasteel, steel, components, and work than the 1000 Technerelics and 10 Genesis reactors combined.

All of the idearn components should be obtainable as quest rewards, which would likely be the most efficient means of accumulating Ideasensors and Genesis reactors.

But even if you get lucky with quest rewards, you should still expect an unparalleled grind. There are no alternatives for obtaining Nomos cells other than shredding mechanoids and destroying related structures. Obtaining 2,000 Nomos cells alone would require one to shred 1,000 scythers or lancers.

Did some math for a guide I'm making. If my calculations are correct, you'll require the following totals of basic materials to manufacture the final model.
97,000 Nomos cells
400,000 plasteel
1,000,000 steel
9,000 components
1,000 advanced components
43,000,000 ticks of work (almost 200 real-time hours at 1x speed with 100% pawn crafting speed)

These numbers assume you craft all relevant idearn components yourself from Nomos cells.

For reference, the actual crafting recipe requires 2,000 Nomos cells, 1,000 Technerelics, 50 Ideasensors and 10 Genesis reactors.
