Thanks! Finally, that was a really annoying bug for a long time, finally peace ;).

I’m thinking about a fix for the reload animation of the primary weapon.
If you know of one please tell me.

The issue I mean occurs when ever the old magazine is removed, and you switch weapons during the reload process, then switch back to the primary weapon. In this case, the entire reload animation shouldn’t have to repeat, as it feels unprofessional and wastes time in-game.

This also happens when the new magazine is already in the weapon and the gun has been ‘reloaded.’ If you don’t wait an extra second after the reload until the bullet count updates correctly and instead switch to the secondary weapon and back, the entire reload animation has to be repeated, even though the reload was already completed before the brief weapon switch.

Vscripts are always server side, and it does work on dedicated if its installed on the server.

when you shove a special infected and don't hear the shove sound you can be scratched if you hear it you can't be scratched. so that means back up if you don't hear it, hope this helps.

@masky that's called animation overlay. The attack animation is a separate animation from the stumble animation. If he plays the attack animation his arms and torso are gonna override the stumble animation bc it's a bigger priority.

@masky It is clearly not intended. How wouldn't it be a bug that they could hit you while staggering? Punishing you for doing a deadstop? Common sense.

This isn't a bug, i've seen a staggering hunter slash with his arm .. while staggering.

when you shove and hear no shove sound they can still hit you. when you shove and hear shove sound they can't hit you until the stun time runs out.

Back at it again with the Jockeys, you have to physically shove them rather than just stop them from jumping on your head because they can scratch you still. Not sure what that's even a thing because I don't think players could do that?

Yeah, you should shove two times - but the way how they work is that if in the event you do manage to deadstop in a slope (or anything with elevation like cars or barricades), for some reason this "resets" the specials' stun duration when they land which allows them to immediately jump on your head. This is more evident with the Jockeys.

Congratulations on making this major repair, as it is bizarre to take hits and take damage from special infected people without animation or during another type of animation in another situation, I believe this is unfair programming of the game.

It's hard not to play with this mod. It's really annoying killing Chargers, Hunters and Jockeys with melee because of this bug, so this mod is a godsend.

What makes me think it's not a bug is the animation. It's smooth, it's not glitchy at all. The animation looks exactly like one would expect if the developers had melee during stagger in mind.
There's one interesting thing about Hunter that seems unintentional. While you're midair, you can't melee. But somehow, it's possible to pounce a survivor and melee them at the same time. This allows you deal 25+6 damage in an instant. After 1000's of hours played as Hunter, I still haven't figured out the conditions that need to be met for this to happen, so I just hold melee button before I pounce and hope for the best. Sometimes it happens, sometimes not.

It has to be a bug because if you play as SI yourself with full length stagger, you still cant claw until its done.

Some information for those who might wondering what is this all about:
The stumble animation is about 3 seconds.
When playing Versus, Infected regain control after about 1 second, both players and bots.
In Campaign, Infected play the entire animation, which restricts their movement and special abilities, but not their melee, which is available to them at the exact time as in VS. My guess is it's to dissuade players from melee spamming Infected to death.
If you're having a problem with Jockey or Hunter scratching you after stopping their pounce, it's not related to the above and not a bug. It's you not timing the melee properly. When you play Versus as those infected, you can scratch Survivors in the exact same way.
You're also completely free to use your melee as Infected near instantly after you get stumbled by Frag Ammo, explosions and Charger hitting a wall nearby. You can do it before you even return to 1st person view.

it is rare yeah, but spitters tend to corner peek and immediately spit, so attempting to shove them out of the way causes damage

@CHARITY This already takes care of the midair stuff for jockey and hunter. For rest, meh, not common enough since you aren't supposed to get close to spitter and boomer in first place.

i'd like to see what @Mortimer suggested, disabling claw during certain SI special actions, such as vomiting, spitting, and the fact SI can still claw you when descending from being shoved mid-air

I've noticed that if you happen to be going through a level without being slowed down, idle common infected can takes ages to begin spawning on the map, allowing you to go a large distance without encountering them. Is there anything you can do to fix this, so the levels feel more full of infected? Thank you
