your infection is related to your lifestyle so, yes, you'd have to be obese to become a boomer.

cool lore: anyone (fat or skinny) can become a boomer. in the sacrifice comic, one of the soldiers that evacuated the l4d1 cast in the military vehicle from the blood harvest farmhouse turned into a boomer during the zombie siege on the base they were kept at for testing.
