Love the mod but after since a few days the Wrecks do not spawn with GPS marker i looked even into the files but i cant figure out where the problem is i tried a new world with only MES and MES Wrecks but still the problem persists i tried a fresh Download but same

kek. used this to inject some variety in my long haul scrapyard scenario, where I''ve a massive station turtle crawling through space from Satreus to the Earthlike to "return home". First encounter - Jump Gate... Welp... This playthrough will end quickly now... Idk how should I feel about it. xD

Not sure if it works but for another mod I tried editing the settings in Config-PlanetaryInstallations.xml to a lower value:
MaxShipsPerArea:5 (10 is default i think)
AreaSize: 25000 (15000 is default i think)

The idea is to allow fewer total spawns in a larger area. Seems to work fine so far with Abandoned Settlements on a small moon, but I don't have a final conclusive result yet. In theory there should only be max 5 MES installations on the entire moon, leaving some room for Keen's planetary encounters.

This mod also spawns other types. The chat command /MES.GESAP might give some insight which config to edit for those.

Like a ton of other people I'd like to know if anyone has specific information on how to decrease spawn rates. So many spawn in it lags my game. It appears to be in this mod file and not the MES core file. Any info is appreciated.

Maybe a better setup for the "Wreckes" faction as ship and object owners. Wrecks and Wrecked ships shouldn't "communicate" with each other - what happens on one ship the other ships aren't supposed to know.

all my wrecks are spawing in the ground it may because i have large planets like 200km in size but im not sure

Hey there. How can I increase the chances of spawning wrecks. I've been playing for quite a while now and I came across just 1 singular wreck which was just cargo container with thrusters. I do have other MES addons such as parallax, incon, I think all of them except reavers.

Can you help me please?

P. S. I know about changing values in my save game but I'm not sure which ones I should change

Is there some way to keep wrecks from appearing within a given radius of an owned static grid? I find myself inundated with new wrecks replacing the ones I've completely salvaged; I'm not 100% certain whether leaving pieces around and deleting the GPS entry will suppress more spawns.

Some grids are aggressive, salvage drops reputation, therefore some grids are fighting back

Does anyone have a recommendation/solution to dial back the number of spawns. Either trough trash collection or specific settings with the DS / Config files. The mode is great; however, I am having to scrub 8 to 10 pages of grids every day or two from this mod. All of the additional slowly adds more load to the server cpu thread. I don't want to pull the mod as my players enjoy it.

yes it can, at least in my experience, it works mid save, some of the designs are massive and can catapult you to late game super quick tho

The fact that the wrecks are neutral but you are still attacked is a clear contradiction. As proof, I have the text file from the faction.sbc here:

It is clear that the NPCs are entered as ENEMIES by default, so NOT NEUTRAL.

I would like to ask that this be adjusted.

The next thing is: this mod is called MES and works with MES, but it completely ignores the MES settings when it comes to spawning with weapons. On our server, NPCs should ONLY spawn with vanilla weapons, so all mod weapons were banned in the MES, but the wrecks still spawn with mod weapons.

Sorry to have to say this now:
"An MES NPC mod that does not adhere to the MES settings, or ignores them, should not call itself MES."

does anybody know if there is a version of this mod that only adds the small grid rovers/ships? I want to use this mod, but i don't want to find one ship and immediately be catapulted into the late game

Is there some way to turn off the wreckage pings? I use radar mods and I'd rather have to find the wrecks through that than GPS markers popping up

Aggressive means they proactively come and attack you.
Sure they will defend themserlves if you get close.

"No grids are aggressive, they are armed though" ... which basically means they have weapons that will attack you which EQUALS yes they are aggressive. Wouldn't be an issue except that frequently the weapons are *underground* and still attacking you, and you can't even get to them to disable them.

Is there a way to increase the spawn rate of these enounters? Does terrain affect the spawn rate/chance? I love this mod and I'd like to understand how I can better interact with it and maybe even 'tweak' it to make it more common.

At least one grid is seriously OP, extracted more resources then I typically mine in SE, 20+ ion large grid large thrusters, 50-100 large grid large hydro thrusters, same with atmo, 8 large grid large reactors with 300 uranium each, ~100 O2/H2 generators full of ice, ~100 large grid large cargo containers, recovered ~30 large grid large hydrogen tanks fully loaded (would have gotten even more if I had checked them sooner.

Might also be nice to have options to disable ships from spawning that include ion thrusters or reactors. Maybe toggle options for such things. In my case, I just disable magic stuff in this game such as those two.

I assume there's a way to disable them from sending their GPS every time?

Would also be nice if they could self expire after a while and disappear. The GPS in your list, and the wreck its self, a way to clean up the old wrecks that got ignored. Kinda like the countdown timer on unknown signals.

Others have also asked about their frequency, which seems too often in my case.

I'm using the aryx arsenal mods, so these wrecks just have every weapon from the mods i have on and wiped my ship out of existence.

Ya. I have traveled a bunch and never found a spawn from this mod at all. So much so that it seems like this mod isn't even working. I am using the Radar mod with this trying to find wrecks and ships. And I have unchecked "Omit NPC ships" on the radar.

I love this mod, but it’s very rare I see anything spawn. Is there a way to increase frequency? Or maybe a reason why it doesn’t spawn often? Modded planet? Other MES mods?

They aren't aggressive in the sense that they don't pursue the player, they just sit where they are.

I love this mod, but the description says "No grids are aggressive, they are armed though", yet the Factions.sbc says "<DefaultRelation>Enemies</DefaultRelation> ". How can not be aggressive but are enemies? Mine fire on me from the get go. Is this just an outdated description?
