problem is you need lighter fluid in 42 and its another item you need to find first where gas is easier to find

Yeah, it works so far, but I can't refill a lighter with a bottle of gasoline, only with a gas can.

Not to discredit the mod author's efforts into this but if you're using FuelAPI and Canteens and Bottles mod, try this for mod compatiblity..

i have to second the idea below for lighter fluid rather than gasoline. while this mod concept is fantastic, i think adding lighter fluid and functionality for ethanol/disinfectant (disinfectant is presumably isopropyl alcohol) would sorta complete this mod concept and this mod would be a must have nobody ever has a reason to get rid of/replace later with a better mod that does the same.

The only way to make this better would be if the lighter lose x amount of fuel on EveryHours or so. IRL a zippo would dry out of fuel in like 1-2 weeks ish if it was full. Would make matches (or bic lighters if modded) much better for long term storage.

I don’t think this works with hydrocraft. None of the options are popping up for me. I’ve tried on a new game and everything. I believe it’s because hydrocraft also has an item called an empty lighter and it might be overriding this one is my only thought. Also if you made the lighters craftable I’d say this could be the best refill lighters mod.

Also, I have a suggestion

Since petrol lighters (let's assume by its appearance on the icon that that's a Zippo lighter) are not meant to be filled with automobile gasoline, it would be GREAT if this mod also added Lighter Fluid as a lootable item that often spawns at reasonable locations.

The mod should still allow using gasoline as fuel, but doing so would damage the lighter by fastly decreasing its condition. Using lighter fluid instead would not damage the lighter.

@moleman12 Sorry to hear that, I just tested it on a server I quickly set up, and it worked for me without a problem.

Just to validate: have you made sure that the mod is enabled in both the servers mods and the workshop tab? I had issues previously with mods because they were active in one but not the other.
If this is not the case, maybe unsub, make sure that the mods folder is properly deleted, then subscribe and try again.

But if that is not the issue I unfortunately don't know what can be the cause

Does this mod require a soft reset if adding it to an existing world? It works fine in solo but we can't seem to get it working on our server, the mod is enabled in the server settings and everything

I wish i could refill lighter using other bottles of gasoline other than just plastic water bottle (I have bottle from white wine filled with gas but i can't refill my lighter)

Yes, irl it can potentially blow out the wick and is a bit dangerous.

@Reiji Gasoline wasn't ever used as a primary fuel for lighters. People found out you could use it but it doesn't work that well.

Done, I found out what the problem was, in debug mode I edited the lighter to the amount 0 but the x didn't appear in the lighter and that's why it wouldn't let me load, I have to empty the lighter with the character hehe thanks for the answer

@Bayths you do not need to have the lighter or the gas can equipped. Just rightclicking thee empty lighter should give you the context menu option "refill empty lighter"

Hello, how does this work? I tried with the lighter in one hand, with the other hand the gasoline can, nothing; both loose in the inventory and I can't get it to recharge either

@ rikuJe These are not propane, but gasoline lighters, gasoline lighters were invented first, then propane. Filling propane lighter with propane tank would make it less immersive, since you can't really connect without reduction.
