I've played through this twice now. It made me cry the first time and again this time. It's so beautifully written that it both makes me feel like I'm there with him remembering his father while at the same time, remembering my own. Thank you for such a lovely experience.

I am sorry for your loss, but also happy to hear that you father is still alive! I'll try playing the room again. One of my best friends and I play a lot of Escape Simulator, we live quite a distance apart, so playing games together is our way of keeping in contact. Your maps are by far the best community maps we have encountered so far! Thank you for all your work, we are looking forward to playing your next map :B1:

@Ren Shredder: Thanks for the kind words! I don't want to mislead anyone, so to clarify: The story told in this room and the characters are fictional, and my own father is still alive. But I have had to deal will a very difficult loss when my brother died, and that experience fed into the room.
I retested it a few times, and found the light switch to be working as intended. It becomes clickable as soon as the Halloween letter is picked up. If that didn't work for you, I can only assume that you had a rather unique glitch. I'm sorry you didn't get to complete the room, I think you really would have liked the ending.

Very touching map, and great idea! I lost my dad last year, if, as it seems, you lost your dad as well, my heart goes out to you!
Just as a side note, sadly I could not finish the map, because the light switch is not clickable after the chess puzzle.

Thank you for this very sentimental map

Amazing story, amazing room! Love the storytelling. My dad passed away last week, and this touched me. Love it! <3

Personally, this room hit me like a truck of emotions as it reminded me of my dad. The atmosphere was amazing, voice-acting 100/10, story took me into a whirlwind of nostalgia and triggered memories I forgot I had. Simple, but effective in terms of story-telling and immersing the player. Puzzles were challenging but also intuitive, except for the chess puzzle which threw me off for a long time. But regardless, it was a memorable experience. Thank you for another well thought of room! I loved seeing the love and care put into the details in your rooms :tigerinablanket:

What a wonderful room. Such a beautiful story and engaging puzzles. I didn't expect to cry playing a puzzle but it was so moving! One of my favourite rooms by far <3 Thank you so much.

This was such a wonderful map. Haven't done a map that hit my weak point like this one did.. Thank you.
P.S. If you plan to make more maps and would like some voice over/voice acting for it - I'd be honoured to help free of charge. Have some experience in doing voice work and have a deep yet soothing voice with a slight northern European accent

This is a great room! Powerful and evocative, which I was not expecting and blew me away the first time I played through it.

The puzzles are creative and diverse, and the overarching narrative, voice-overs, and tone really set the mood and pull everything together. The art design on the photos is truly beautiful, and as soon as I saw how the revolving photos at the very end were done, I knew I wanted to do something similar in my room (thanks Wollo!). Amazing job here.

Along with a love for challenging but fair puzzles, Wollo has a really unique sense for game design, theme, and flow, and it's impressive to see the wide variety of ways he has employed those skills in his diverse and growing collection of escape rooms. Check out his other rooms if you haven't yet - highly recommended!

If I had to give any criticism, it would be the voice acting. But given this room is a love letter, everything needed to be personal and my criticism isn't valid. This was really well done.

Terrific work. I lost my father a few years ago and was taken a back by the emotion and connection to the story. Truly a master piece. I very touching tribute to your father if it was meant to be. Thank you for making this

This map was so perfect I don't have the words. The story, the music, the puzzles, the emotion ... everything was perfect. Thank you for this moment I'll never forget ♥

Wow! I already completed a lot of rooms but this is by far the most memorable. The story felt so authentic and emotional. Thanks for the great riddles and voice design!

What a touching story, kudos to you for pushing the boundaries of the medium!
zeo1337 6. apr. 2022 kl. 7:39
The chess puzzle took me a while. I knew since I couldn't interact, it had to depict information visually. I saw the easy queen capture and an impossible pawn position, but couldn't find anyway to convert them into a four digit number. So I started focusing closely on the rules. I tried counting the pieces, white first, then black, which did make a four digit number, but it didn't work. So I tried the opposite and no luck. It felt like the right solution and I was worried the real solution wouldn't be as nice. Yet I was happy with it once I found it.
sdbpost 23. mar. 2022 kl. 9:29
Yup, that's just what I did. Thanks
Wollo  [ophavsmand] 23. mar. 2022 kl. 0:09
@sdbpost: Just retested several times - all working as expected. Any chance you may have mixed up the top left and top right pieces? The look quite similar .
sdbpost 22. mar. 2022 kl. 18:36
Solved the picture puzzle but nothing happens.
Tannis Root Fries 22. mar. 2022 kl. 10:26
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! The somber music, the room design, the details, the puzzles, the voice acting, the story, basically EVERYTHING! I loved every part of this game especially the story, this could even have been a standalone game!
Reactor.UK 21. mar. 2022 kl. 14:47
THE best puzzle I've played.. absolutely amazing.

ladylolli 21. mar. 2022 kl. 11:15
Beautiful, in-depth map. Definitely very touching, I needed to pause a few times listening to the story.
Keep up your great work.
Autumn Light 20. mar. 2022 kl. 16:13
Amazing storyline and map. I appreciate it a lot thinking of my own dad who is slowly going due to dementia alzhiemers. One day he'll be gone, but the love won't.
Nate Doggg 18. mar. 2022 kl. 14:38
right in the feels mate. What a journey... Thanks for creating this.
Wollo  [ophavsmand] 15. mar. 2022 kl. 9:22
Thanks for all the praise, I appreciate it!
But I'm also hearing your pain and have added a choice between the full prologue (4.5 mins) and a shorter one (< 1 min) - for those in a hurry. I personally still prefer the long one.
I have also added a little something to the last puzzle to make it less daunting (cute cat carvings make any puzzle better anyway).
And then there are several minor improvement like fonts, item names, and other little fixes.
Boudreauolivier 15. mar. 2022 kl. 6:32
It was like you made a completely different game inside escape simulator. It felt like playing a mix of gone home and firewatch with a touch of to the moon for the story . All 3 games masterpiece I would say. Continue to make things outside the box it's always better. Chapeau!
