Last I checked, there isn't a dynamic way to tell the difference between pickups and otherwise. I could maybe make a section in the menu that is automatically filled with every found object and the user could manually specify what each is, but that would be a bit complex for the average user.

Maybe I will look into that whenever I get back into working on this mod, but I have my doubts on that being any time soon.

With the config you can always temporarily make the mod effectively non-existent mid-run if you ever need.

That's strange, it seems to be working for me. Double check if the MCM mod you have is the same one I have linked in the description, and if you have a different one, try that one and see if the problem persists.

you should add an option to push away specific pickups regardless of max cap, like I want an option where I can still pick up nickels and dimes but not pennies. Maybe you could do this by making the mod affects pickups menu not affected by push all and phase all?

Ah, right. I forgot about Tainted Cain, I'll add hearts to the list when I find time. In the meantime you can use the "Push All" or "Phase All" modes which will apply to absolutely everything.

not a huge deal but i've gotten pretty frustrated accidentally picking up soul hearts and losing good recipes as tainted cain.

For the most part don't hearts work like that by default? Or am I missing something here? Could you give more details on what you want the hearts to behave compared to how they currently do?

@Dm0pt, huh, very strange... The latest update was made to specifically fix that issue and it's been working for me. The only possibilities I can think of is either you have some other mod that is overriding this mod's save data, or something is wrong with your save data preventing it from saving fully. Do other parts of the config save correctly or are they also broken?

Maybe try resetting the config and see if that magically fixes it?
Try disabling every mod except for MCM and FPP and see if it still breaks then.

I use MCM pure, yet every time i exit to the main menu or restart a run the button changes from shift back to ctrl

@Dm0pt, Changing the control in MCM should be saving every time it's changed for most MCM-like mods. What MCM mod do you use if any?

Personally I use "MCM -Pure" and it seems to save the controls and all other settings for me just fine. You can find an easy link to it anywhere in the description MCM is mentioned.

MCM Pure finally works for me, so updates are back on the menu.

Support for MCM Pure has already been implemented in the latest update, but y'all let me know if there is anything else in need of fixing or if settings don't save correctly.

Ah, good idea @DmOpt. I will add it to my list of plans and add it whenever I have the motivation to work on this mod again, however that may take a long while with life stuff getting in the way.

As a temporary fix you could set the mod to "Push All" or "Phase All" mode.

Sorry about that @CAROLING HELLWALKER, That's a known issue, Unlike MCM Continued, MCM Pure requires the mod to save the config manually which this mod was not made for. Lately I have been lacking motivation thus is why the mod has not been updated in a long time. Though it doesn't help that no version of MCM has worked for me for a while now and I have not had the motivation to look into why that is, though I suspect it's due to a random mod I have.

Okay uh. Ever since mod config continued was discontinued this mod still works fine with mod pure, but for whatever reason it automatically resets the settings to default each time i start a new run. its been incredibly frustrating to retoggle the options I want to use. Is there any way to fix that because its been bugging me for ages

The hearts dropped from enemies are temporary items, this mod completely avoids touching temporary items. So you should always be able to pick up the dropped hearts, perhaps another mod you have is getting in the way?

Sounds like the Andromeda mod has the effects happen when a pickup is touched rather then picked up. Seems like a mod incompatibility on their end.

I should also note, there's a bug with the Andromeda mod, where as playing as Tainted Andromeda.

Short summary of how the character works, picking up items such as coins, bombs or keys charge the meter on your ability, of which spawn an item. But the problem is that upon reaching the max amount of any pickup then trying to grab more will result your ability to charge anyway, basically giving you infinite items.

That is indeed a feature of this mod, I call it "Smart Keeper", It's on by default but I am still on the fence about that. It prevents coin pickup unless you need it for healing. (Temporary coins can always be picked up)

Note: As with any part of this mod, you can hold the drop key to interact with things like normal, in addition if you have MCM you can turn the feature completely off or change what coins it will effect.

Sorry if this has caused a inconvenience. Hopefully I have cleared things up, do feel free to give feedback on the feature if it annoys you.

Stikngne has brought to my attention that is an issue with "MCM Pure", for more information you can read the discussion post they made. I will look into supporting that version if and when I can find the time, but until then, I recommend using "MCM Continued" links to which can be found anywhere in the mod description where MCM is mentioned.
Feel free to let me know if this would be an issue for you and I'll make it a higher priority.

When I'm turning off prevention from charged keys or golden bombs and golden keys it always resets on next run. I just can't save my settings in this mod for some reason. Other mods works without any problems with customizations, but this one always resets...

Yeah there are a few bugs related to doubled characters that share stuff that I need to work out. I just need to find a good way to tell if the given character shares with another or not.

Breaks for Tainted Forgotten, when Deep Pockets is picked up, The Soul cannot pick up coins but can throw The Body to collect them.

"Smart Keeper" effects both normal and tainted variants. Coins heal keeper and tainted keeper, "Smart Keeper" mode saves coins so you can come back to them to heal later. It's very helpful for people who like to min-max their runs which after all is the whole point of this mod in the first place. Remember that holding the drop key (configurable) allows for you to bypass any effects of the mod temporarily and that you can always turn smart keeper off entirely if you don't like it.

As for why it only effects you in the custom challenge I still have no clue, Smart Keeper mode should be working the same rather you are in a normal run playing as Normal/Tainted Keeper as it would in the challenge, I feel like there might be something more here than I am aware of with the challenge.


TL,DR: "Smart Keeper" mode is to aid with healing, if you don't like it there are multiple ways to bypass it's effects, either temporary or permanent.

Are you playing keeper? If so not picking up coins is intentional, if you dislike it you can turn off smart keeper mode in the settings.
