Honestly makes the subtitles easier to read

Setting the autpexec to alias reloadfont "mat_setvideomode 1920 1080 0; mat_setvideomode 1920 1080 1" will make it run automatically on borderless windowed mode.

Putting +reloadfont in the launch options (Library > Right-click Left 4 Dead 2 > Properties > General > Launch Options located at the bottom) loads the font on boot up. This still forces you into full screen, though.

The description instructions doesn't automatically load the fonts. You have to type in reloadfont in the console each time you start the game to get the fonts to work.

You could have also just read the description EngineerGaming(F2P)

Actually, I figured it out. You have to download the addon by finding the addon in the workshop folder, the way I do it is look at all the pictures and find the picture of this addon, and bellow the picture is the addon so I double click it and it should be installed when you start up the game. Once all the addons are loaded I unsubscribe to avoid conflicts since you basically made a copy of the add on, so when the game starts it is already there and in addition, you need to add "reloadfont" into the autoexec. Doing this will make everything happen automatically. Sorry if this comment was too long.

Would I have to manually reload the font from console each time I start up L4D2?

I modified it to make the y button match the custom controller UI I made for steam. Sadly it would be impossible to share because of how complicated it is, and it changes Steam files as well.

Did you set the resolution in the autoexec to be your actual resolution? Also it just changes to fullscreen to load the font, after that you can go back to borderless.

Guess it does work if I set borderless windowed at the start before I load up a game, but it always defaults me to fullscreen.

Sadly not, as the Stubble Bold font doesn't support the Russian Alphabet.
