[WotC] Ruler Rework

i have to defeat him and 50 snakes some elite snakes and each of them can 1 shot crit all my heros. and they have unlimited spawns and they keep spawning in like 5 every turn. HOW DO I TURN THE SPAWNING OFF?????
i'm not even 10 missions in yet and my snake ruler appeared in my campaign at mission blacksite and I'm having a hard time defeating a modded version of viper king and don't know which mods made his health higher i guess it's a unlucky modded dark event?

@C7 While there are some mods that stop Rulers from reacting to reloading, this mod isn't one of them.

I really appreciate that this elegantly makes them reasonable and also removes cheese strats that invalidate them. Really sick!

Alien Rulers Use Prime Reactions - maybe work on new tactical but not on already created
or
Ruler Reactions Revised - WotC - it worked on time
or
Disable Ruler Reaction WOTC - only work on new tactical mission

What's that other mod?

I was looking at adding this mod but it and Renegade Rulers override the same classes so I don't use this mod currently.

just install another mod that remove the movement reaction, and works fine, even in the ongoing mission

i restarted the mission and still dont work
i have no clue whats going here, i double check in AML and there is no conflit there

i tried regenerate the config files
but i can't tell for sure,because i'm allready in a mission

Ok. I re-subscribed to Blue Rajas version and had no problems though - battle with Ruler went as I was used to ( had been using it for awhile). Reaction to offensive, varied on defensive, and none to movement. I'm using ABA as well and I see another comment down below with similar issues ( I'm not using the Hive). Either way, something's off. Not going to do a conflict search on my end at the moment but hopefully something is figured out.

If they react to movement you have a conflicting mod installed somewhere.

It seems like the Ruler reacts to everything so I'm not sure if this is working. They react to movement, reloads, "lead the target" by Proficiency Sniper. Maybe intended by this mod, I guess, but just absurd.

Returning to Blue Rajas version. I forget how annoying ( and ridiculous) the Ruler spam is.

@Lago no the Archon Ruler responded to movement and attacks just like vanilla wether the attacks targeted them or not this was after disabling Hive I'll try it on a new save with minimal mods turned on but that's gonna take awhile as I speed to the dlc mission

I'll have to get back to you when I do a mission with another Alien Ruler. I'd assume it is conflicting I know The Hive adds an Alien Ruler of its own so that's sure to be messing things up.

I just tried it using "Rulers Reaction for the chosen" Mod along this one

and it seem chosen din't reacted to movement.
But did reacted when i attacked the chosen or any of its allies.

Either way loving this mod with combination of the other.
Makes chosen more challenging but not OP!

Read the first change that stops them from reacting to movement and had to grab this mod right way, seriously this mod is a god send

I always hated that the rulers were nothing but just a non stop slugging fest seeing who had more HP there was no strategy to fighting them just sitting there and taking abuse. Unless you cheesed it by using a concealment scout and snipers squadsight which was boring. Thanks for making this mod.

If it uses the existing Ruler reaction soldier perks, they should work together. If it adds its own, they won't affect each other.

I'm not certain, but I think that'll work. If it does, you could also surprise a Ruler by firing a Plasma Blaster at it through a wall.

Ruler Rework's solution to that problem is a little different, but yes, they'd be fairly redundant together.

This looks like a really good tweak to their behaviour. I'm currently using Ruler Nerf Nerf .

Whilst that doesn't override the same classes it "Adds in an exception to the LOS requirement for rulers in War of the Chosen: if they take any damage from XCOM, even from a out of distance shooter, they will act."

That sounds redundant if this mod is used?

From the look of Upgraded Rulers, it should. The only other mod I know of that modifies the Ruler reaction system is Ruler Reactions Revised.
