@mountainofcheezo If all you're looking for is automatically clearing certain plants from certain areas I highly recommend the fabulous colony manager mod.
ThottyNathaniel 4 okt, 2024 @ 13:51
could you add a no petty harvesting button too please
hekele 18 maj, 2024 @ 7:00
@mountainofcheezo Exactly. When you have a planting zone it will wait until the plants are 'Harvestable' and then they will be harvested. If that's trees, it takes awhile.
mountainofcheezo 16 maj, 2024 @ 15:28
Can you make it possible to allow for cutting but not planting in a zone? I want to designate a zone to cut all the trees down in, but just laying down a zone and turning off sowing doesn't do it - maybe it is waiting until all the trees are fully grown?

1.5 mentioned in Best Mods • Almost Vanilla Behavior collection.
Zeven 4 maj, 2024 @ 6:54
priorities won´t work for me! they just do random fields and they are able (lvl) to do everything, also forced them but they don´t care.
Xilo The Odd 20 apr, 2024 @ 16:10
works fine in 1.5 no errors or anything with any functionality.
我要成为空爆高手 20 apr, 2024 @ 2:53

lemerney 18 apr, 2024 @ 14:10

1.5 pls ~
Omniburg 13 apr, 2024 @ 5:30
1.5 made me realize this mod is not just a QoL, but a necessity. (not even pressing for an update, just commending how excellent this mod is, not to be misinterpreted)
Cosmic Creepers 13 apr, 2024 @ 3:54
this version is working perfectly fine on 1.5
byevisu 12 apr, 2024 @ 11:10

FlamingLlama 12 apr, 2024 @ 6:44
Just commenting to note that I running this with 1.5 without any issues so far, only the version warning. It is probably safe to play with this for now. Will update if anything comes up.
KatWitch 12 apr, 2024 @ 6:04
Donated a nice ko-fi for owlchemist. For those that can afford it, this is a great time to show some love for your favourite mod authors!

-=GoW=-Dennis 22 feb, 2024 @ 16:42
This doesn't seem to support the additional farm zones for sand and water that Vanilla Expanded adds, any chance for a patch?
Art Student 11 feb, 2024 @ 8:38
can you make the no petty job affect hydroponic ? my pawn tend to go back and forth harvesting and planting seed seperately, will be nice if they only harvest once every plant is fully grown
r00cie 30 jan, 2024 @ 15:20
holy crap! how did i not find this mod sooner. this is something that has literally been a problem for me in every one of my play-troughs.
Yoann 21 jan, 2024 @ 5:28
@Anodder I think that disable the harvest job for mechanoids is easy to do if harvest is the only task in a worktype, it's just an easy xml patch. The bad side it's that restart the game would be required to toggle between enable/disable.
Anodder 20 jan, 2024 @ 15:25
A suggestion: since harvest yield is a pawn-dependent stat, it is difficult to micro-manage agrihands to only sow and not harvest, since I cannot disable the harvest job for them like it is possible for humans with the Complex Jobs mod. Could you add a gizmo to disallow a grow zone to be harvested by mechanoids? Alternatively, a gizmo could cycle through 4 states, similar to how the sowing gizmo works currently, with the following states: no harvesting, human harvesting, mechanoid harvesting and all harvesting.

Great mod, tyvm!
DesertOfAngmar 10 dec, 2023 @ 13:48
would be nice if smart farming would also work for the mushroom, aquatic and desert growing zones from the other vanilla plants expanded mods
mountainofcheezo 6 dec, 2023 @ 8:38
You can allow cutting, but that of course forces cutting of all trees in the zone. Which is annoying, and should not be the case
mountainofcheezo 28 nov, 2023 @ 18:29
Seems to ruin the auto harvest option for ambrosia - since you can't choose ambrosia to grow, colonists won't automatically harvest it from growing zones.
Deadmano 21 nov, 2023 @ 16:23
I have an indoor greenhouse, a nice 21c year-round, with a sun lamp, so year-round perfect growing conditions, yet if I have "Smart sow" on it prevent sowing due to "bad seasonal temperature" stating plants will likely die before harvest which is simply untrue. Can you possibly add a check for the location of the plants (temperature/roof)?
platinumhawkzz 16 nov, 2023 @ 17:53
What's the grow button
Z4G x-Tream 8 nov, 2023 @ 21:47
Please add the grow button, ruins this would-be good mod.
ChrisHatesGeese 14 okt, 2023 @ 19:45
Owl, could you please patch in sandy and aquatic growing zones from VE Plants - More Plants (https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2748889667)

Cure Blight (Continued)
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3050326235
Can you add similar features? Automatic Cure Blight
Krush 26 sep, 2023 @ 11:29
Nevermind I just confirmed it, but it also makes sense for this mod and others that control sowing to hide that buttton/replace it.
Krush 26 sep, 2023 @ 10:30
Does this mod do anything with "allow sowing" gizmo? Because mine is missing.
Giant Enemy Crab 24 sep, 2023 @ 9:04
Yes, turn sowing off and leave cutting on. You can also use a pen marker to autocut everything, but it'll be easiest to throw down some kind of tiling to permanently fix it.
Twilight 24 sep, 2023 @ 6:59
Hi guys, is there a way to just cut plants in an area, without sowing? I use the mod so far for everything else and like it a lot, but i always have one use case open: Keeping the wider area around my defense turrets clear to remove any cover. So far i had no luck and just plant simple grass with this mod. Is there a way to skip the sowing?
Giant Enemy Crab 19 sep, 2023 @ 9:23
@Mario, I've harvested fine. Just turn sowing to Off and wait.
Prior Restraint 18 sep, 2023 @ 20:15
Anyone ever figure out a way to make this work so that you don't kill ambrosia?
Giant Enemy Crab 10 sep, 2023 @ 16:40
Updating my previous comment to report that the incompatibility issue has been fixed. I haven't checked on my current save file but both should work now
Giant Enemy Crab 7 sep, 2023 @ 17:29
Hi Greywolf, thanks to some help from the Rimworld Discord, the main issue appears to be caused by an incompatibility with the Biomes! mod series. I just removed it and can confirm Smart Farming is working as expected.
SteeleWulf 7 sep, 2023 @ 12:32
i am also having the issue where this mod doesnt seem to be working, even with smart settings on, my pawns want to plant crops in the middle of winter
Giant Enemy Crab 6 sep, 2023 @ 14:16
I'm not sure this mod is currently working. My pawns insist on planting in winter, even though plants die. Tried it with the On and Smart settings, and no change to pawn behavior.
-Mikhail- 5 sep, 2023 @ 22:44
I wrote about the problem earlier, but it seems that there is a solution
latest Complex Jobs, even with default settings solves the problem.
Sargalis 19 aug, 2023 @ 17:00
Any plans on adding "No petty jobs" but for harvesting instead?
So that my pawns won't rush towards harvesting the only one crop that has grown into full potential and then returning to whatever silly task they were performing.
That hits especially hard when farmer and miner is the same person...

(Additionally "No petty jobs" for cutting is very great for plants that can be harvested multiple times (tomatoes or grapes) or trees. Very lovely, thanks for all those features!)
-Mikhail- 14 aug, 2023 @ 2:46
I would like to ask about adding functionality.
If there is a seed storage, or a simple storage, the pawn no longer throws seeds on the ground to cut grass, but carries the seeds back to the storage. Very often, a pawn will go to a field, plant just one plant, and take the seeds back to the warehouse to cut just one grass and plant just one plant again. Most of the time it's just walking around to put and take seeds again. In this sense, "No petty jobs" doesn't work.

It would be great, as an option - if the pawn wants to cut the grass - drop the seeds on the ground instead of carrying them to the warehouse.
Shork with a Torpedo 13 aug, 2023 @ 17:16
Pawn tried to sow in smart sow when long night (vanilla event expanded) and there is no suitable light to grow
cant aim 5 aug, 2023 @ 7:36
Does not work with the water and sand growing zones added by vanilla plants expanded more plants
m.schinlaub 30 jul, 2023 @ 11:41
I agree with HAIL GAIA's request.
