@RR
Now I see what you meant - I didn't look closely enough. I'll look into it and see if there's a workaround.

I already did do that before (I'm not that great in scripting but I figured this would probably the way to do it). It happens that the item is indeed the first one on the list, however it doesn't sort the game list by game type but still by oldest first. Instead, you have to click on the 'new' 4th item in the list to sort it by game type.

@RR:
Go to
..\Steam\SteamApps\common\Age of Mythology\mods\Titans Game List\data
Open file called uigamelist.xml - you can use regular text editor, however I'd recommend using Notepad++ since it makes reading the file easier (syntax highlighting).

On the very beginning of the file starting with line 7 you'll find a section titled <!-- STEAM LIST FILTER: --> .
Right underneath you'll find a list of items enclosed with <listitem> tags.
Simply cut the line: <listitem>$$23984$$Sort: Game Type</listitem>
and paste it in front of the first item in the list.

That will make the game sort by game type by default.

Hey I like this a lot!
I think GoldenAxe already asked this in a way, but would it be possible to change the default sorting from Oldest First to Game Type? Currently trying to modify the UI myself, but without any luck...

Each mod has its own folder bearing that mod's name.

Nice mod, that is when it works..One question how can i manualy delete mods i subscribe to in what file are they located?

@RambiZ:
This is not a mod problem. There is a game/workshop issue that affects certain installations, causing them to disable mods. There have been several reports of this in the forums. I'm sorry, but I do not have a definitive solution for you at this time. You can try unsubscribing, deleting the mod, and subscribing again.

This mod doesn't work anymore for me, The mod will disable every single times I enable it since this morning! Fix it please.

@Meowric:
The mod works correctly. Problem is on your end. Make sure that the mod is active and that u dont have any other UI mods that conflict. Try disabling & enabling the mod again and clicking "reload assets".
If that doesnt help, investigate if the mod is indeed in your /mods directory. Some people used to have all kinds of weird issues related to the workshop.
Onigiri 26 MAY 2014 a las 1:31
The mod doesn't work anymore for my lobby. It just reverted back to the old version. The first time I used this it díd work.

I like it! :)

@RyFang, @n0sfe:
I can certainly look into it. Main issue is that I'm limited to whatever has been programmed in and w.e feature sets are available. I cant just add code to the executable and make it do all kinds of fancy things. But I can however, try to work with what's already there and see if these features are possible to implement :)

I could theoretically make the column names into transparent buttons or something like that and have it sort by w.e you clicked. I'll be experimenting with all kinds of UI stuff and let you guys know how it goes.
RyFang 20 MAY 2014 a las 14:03
Another nice improvement (if possible) would be to have an improved sorting/filtering system. Where columns could be sorted by clicking the top instead of having to select that column value from the drop down at the bottom. Having a saveable filtering system would also be cool so you could permanently filter out certain game types such as custom scenarios, death match or ranked games.
N0sf3 20 MAY 2014 a las 12:43
Good Job!!! Thank you very very very muchh!!!!

There would be no way to filter the games? That is not to show me such games scenarios, death or lightning, only I want as supremacy or conquest.
RyFang 20 MAY 2014 a las 8:26
Really good job! Having the player list makes finding advanced games worth playing in so much easier.
Black Adder 20 MAY 2014 a las 6:53
Great mod, gj :-)

2LNC_GoldenAxe: There's a drop down on the bottom to choose your sorting.

It seems a lot of things were basically left completely as they were in AOM days, and that they're not frantically running around post-release trying to fix everything.

It would have been great if they delayed 2 months, and gave us not only a less buggy experience, but a more user-friendly one with a few more *useful* features, instead of features nobody was asking for.

Sadly, this is the World we live in, the game industry is full of games being released half-finished for a cash-grab and this is no exception.
2CR  [autor] 19 MAY 2014 a las 13:51
@Samu
This is in no way verified, but my gut feeling is that the chat system (on the client side) was left completely as it was during original AoM days. They just implemented some kind of translation layer that presents data from Steam in a format as if it was from ESO. Minus some features like the friends list and such.
Of course this is just speculation and I could be completely wrong ;)
Samu 19 MAY 2014 a las 12:18
Niiice, that would be sweet. :)

I was really hoping they would update the chat, so that it had some steam-integration, like right clicking names on the list for a link to add them on steam, or visit their profile e.t.c.

Instead, we got a downgraded to a chat that hardly works, has barely any rooms with no distinction between them, and is so small you can only see 5 lines of text.
2CR  [autor] 19 MAY 2014 a las 12:15
@Samu
Yes, that actually is one of the things I plan on doing in the future.
StormReaper 19 MAY 2014 a las 11:54
Very nice
LNC_GoldenAxe 19 MAY 2014 a las 11:09
Anyway we can change it so that it displays by GameType. Thanks!
Samu 19 MAY 2014 a las 7:01
Great job.

Now do you fancy bringing back the old chat? I like having it constantly there, but it would be nice to have the old dedicated chat tab as well, so you could see a full screen chat room, and all of the people in it much easier.
Mirez 19 MAY 2014 a las 2:12
Excellent, I really don't understand why they went with the current gamelist.
Tye 18 MAY 2014 a las 22:49
Well done. Huge improvement over the current one :P
Sara 18 MAY 2014 a las 18:57
This is the best thing since sliced bread for this game I would think. Well done sir.
