I just now realized that after I made the update to introduce the new display system, which allows the placement of unlimited explosives, I didn't add a check to disable the limit if this display mode was active. You had to enable the old system in the options and then click on the limit toggle (which was otherwise not shown). The limit should now be disabled by default which is what I thought was already the case.
