would it possible for a future update to fix the hitbox bugs for weapons that have size modifiers? it feels awful not having the weapon actually match the hitbox, as far as i know this is the only mod that actually tweaks the arc for melee swings.

to greenforze, Sometimes it breaks the hitboxes but just try another one, for me it usually breaks hitboxes of stuff with tiny hitboxes, it shouldnt hinder your gameplay that much. Still a great mod.

like lupi said. this completely breaks size reforges and other content making weapons larger. the size of the sprite works but the hitbox is broken. pls fix this

The mod is working quite well but however there are some issues where some weapons that get a bit wonky from the effects of this mod. The shotgun spear and the RWBY melee gun hybrid weapon from Storm's Additions Mod. And some melee style healer weapons from Unofficial Calamity Bard & Healer have extra images of the player swinging the weapon. So there are two versions of the weapon appearing whenever the player attacks.

i just want a mod so that i can run left while swinging my sword right for swords that are non-projectile as it isnt possible without mods, but this makes the swing feel short and it f's up the hitbox to the point where half of my sword doesn't hit anything

It works quite well. However I have to report it can be a bit buggy with more niche melee weapons especially ones that have a right click function and especially ones that also function as a gun or magic weapon as some will just basically swing up and down instead of looking normal when shooting or stabbing.

But other than that, this mod is working great and I hope to see it improve and workout the remaining compatibility issues. I still recommend this for just about almost any playthrough.

It would be incredible if you updated this so the Night's Edge//Excalibur/Horseman's Blade/Terra Blade/etc's slash affects also follow your aim. I literally can't play Terraria without this mod anymore and would love that extra little polish.

Only gripe is that apparently it makes anything that makes swinging weapons bigger only be a visual effect without changing the actual hitbox

because right now, it seems to affect all things that use the "swing" use style, but that looks really weird with things like throwing knives.

The mod loads and can be enabled on tml 1.4.4 but on the mod list it says that it requires 1.4.3.

Do you think you could add a config option to allow the sword swing to follow the player's mouse, as opposed to getting stuck while attacking? There was a bug in a previous version a while back that caused this to happen, and I thought it was really cool.

This mod seems to ignore any additions to weapon size, only increasing the sprite of the melee weapon and not the actual hitbox. Fargo Mod's Tungsten Enchantment shows this clearly.

The mod doesn't seem to work well with the tungsten enchantment from fargo's souls, the weapon will look bigger but won't actually hit the enemies

It's a vanilla limitation. I don't think DM affects anything related to that.

Unusual. Still seems to appear on Directional Melee v0.4.4, Pylons Prevent Evil v1.8.5, and tModLoader v2022.6.96.4...

If it's unable to be reproduced though, it might just be an issue on my install. Thanks for checking, regardless!

There is an issue with your mod and Pylons Prevent Evils, which causes PPE to not function properly.

Your mod seems to throw a NullReferenceException when setting the ItemLocation in the hand.

Bladecrest Oathsword is coded as a gun/staff. There's no way for Directional Melee to interact with weapons that aren't using the vanilla melee UseStyle.
