His hat is removeable, hold down C. Right click the model. And goto bodygroups.

I have a problem with this. First off, I think this is really cool. I have some ideas for an animation using this. But when I use bone merger and merge it with the scout, I can't really see it over his hat. Any help would be appreciated!!
