Is there a way to use a trigger to activate Spacetime Rupture? Just syncing it to a trigger doesn't work.

I just tested the public release and all of them work properly. Set it to night with a 100% chance and a interval of something like [3,5].

Sure, the mod is on APL-SA.

You would have to depbo and edit the scripts. An easier method would be to use Alias's original scripts in the mission folder.

Is there a way to get rid of the earthquake/swirling cloud of dirt or whatever it is when you have the UFO effects on? I want to have the effect set to play literally every second for an invasion style mission but it makes it near impossible to enjoy the mission when you can't see.

I don't plan to do any more work on these, but the license is APL-SA, so feel free to make your own versions.

For using them with triggers, spawning occasionally, without mod requirements, look at Alias's workshop page. The scripts are all his work and his originals will can do all of those things.

tagging onto my previous comment, they're a bit stingy when it comes to downloading mods sometimes. especially when it comes to one time things, or just test runs

If I were to use this in a mission, would my entire group need to load it? It'd be great if I can just use the module without my players loading it up because I'd prefer the whole "anomalous" thing to be a surprise. Having them load the mod would kinda kill the surprise.

Easiest way is to just use the default values. Just place the modules and they will start automatically.

The best way to do that is use ALIAS's original scripts and put a sleep before them.
