@Crazedmonkey231 It would be great if you were still working on the successor mod, since it hasn't gotten an update since December 2022. If you can't or won't finish it, please tell us. Don't pull a George RR Martin on us.

I got to say having metal pants/shirts (uranium pants man) is funny.....but very annoying to just deal with in general wihout a mod to sort in zones by type (I do have one).

Overall its makes random appareal spawn, generally more awful. I love the idea for Armors just not clothing. Is there a stuffable for just Armors?

be warned, this mod will make the majority of clothing items spawned as stuffed with steel. If you use a mod that makes material weight matters, it will make your starting pawns be over encumbered when starting the game. Enemies will spawn with the majority of their armors and clothes stuffed with steel also.

how do i actually stuff the armour tho... there isnt any option in the smithing table and the mod page doesnt explain it either

Hello everybody! I have a successor to this mod! It's currently under work but it doesn't rely on xml and uses Harmony. It is completely code based if you would like to give it a try. Something that used to require cloth can now be made of metal, stone, or wood... but not leather. Never leather. That would just be silly.

i think metal t-shirt and pants is a little stupid furthermore we don't have a lot of metal in the game so is it possible that you make a version of this mod but only for armor ? pls

@Nanoro - you can only set one kind of 'stuff' at a time so it looks like wooden armour will run off of wood 'stuff' and not fabric 'stuff'. you can easily set up a patch if you want to do this though

Hi, just one question: does this mod make it possible for wooden armor to be made with other cloth than cotton? I've got mods to make haycloth, and would really rather not go through the hassle that cotton growing is in comparison due to other mods I've got going on.

"psh, why would I need this," I think. a week later I use ideology specific apparel for the first time and my doctor's head gets blown clean off because he's wearing a flophat made of wool and here I am. thank you king

@Latex Santa, they are all compatible by default as long as they use the base game Metallic tag for their materials. I did confirm that all 3 you mentioned have their materials show up to use. The list I have above was only the ones that I have confirmed worked, I will add those 3 new ones as well.

Would appreciate compatibility with more materials, such as those from Archotech Expanded, Fantasy Metals, Expanded Materials - Metals. You know, whenever. And many thanks for the mod! The incompatibility that Marine Armor Materials had with prestige armor and eltex apparel made with the eltex mineral from Vanilla Psycasts Expanded was really killing me, with all of the pawn generation errors I was getting.

Small fix for the SNS:AOC issue; you can use "Make Anything Craftable" to change the recipe. All I did was add an ingredient requirement of 5 Eternium, and it finally created the armor. Just use whatever ingredient you want the armor to be made from, as well.

Looks like i can't use some apparel combo i used before. Like any hat + flak goggles. :VGRUMPY: Also the new materials conflicts with recycle mods.

Combat Extended, it significantly changes the way armor values are handled and does not seem to account to different materials from the last time I checked

correct there is a soft incompatibilty with that mod, it's been listed above, the fix requires harmony which wasn't the original intention, I have plans for a v2 of this mod which will use harmony

with this mod, i can't craft SNS AOTC True Pinnacle of Creation cycle armor and helmet. the bills don't update after completion, a red error is thrown, and nothing is made. everything else isn't bugged

I've been getting this a lot I may make a patch for those mods because it's just a case of setting the general commonality to zero. This doesn't control mats specifically it just controls materials in general used and unlocks the tags for the apparel and makes the apparel use a stuffCostCount

Is there way to disable specific materials from differents mods from being used by other factions ?
Because I feel like tribes people shouldn't wander around with picomachinery or starsteel warmasks...

If not, is there a way to completely disable those materials from being used?

Is it possible to stop raiders from spawning in with armor/weapons made of certain materials. For example beta poly plate armor from Glitter Tech? I have been trying to figure out the viability of turning off certain types of materials from spawning, but haven't had much luck with my level of code/mod knowledge.

Unfortunately this patches base apparel so it's not as easy as just adding an option like that but if you just want the armors there are sister mods called Flak Fabrics and Marine Armor Materials that only change flak and power armor respectively

Originally yeah it was meant for just vanilla but there was comments about support for other mods and so it turned more into a generic stuffable library and generic support for anything that has a stuffCostCount for their recipes

hmm, it's not just the armors that are getting stuffable, my pawns are crafting steel tribalwear and I just bought concrete earrings...

If you are trying with the Open Worlds mod, the best I can offer to have the least issues is make it a mandatory mod needed to join the server

@ShadzMadz I have no idea about the multiplayer, and yup stuffable means any material but by default wood and stone materials are turned off in the settings

stupid question coming, stuffable just means, able to be crafted by any material right? like... say make power armor out of jade?
also do you know if this causes desyncs in multiplayer mod?

Thank you for your patience and sending me the logs, it was discovered that the way I wrote the VAE patch it was including the Royalty DLC so I updated on my end to separate them and check for royalty I have made the update to fix the issue and put a check to make sure it is loaded after. If you come across this issue for anything else please feel free to drop a comment :)

Hello friendly mod author, I'm back to report on my endeavors. I did as you suggested in redownloading the mods and adjusting their load orders but with no success. I still get the error mentioned below regardless if I load VSA above or below VEF and VAE. Here is my debug log.

My rimworld version is 1.3.3200 (64-bit) and I'm not currently running any DLC

No they should have ingredients that don't say 0, I ran a quick test on my end and it still works but it should work both ways which surprised me tho RimPy sorts it above it and above the Vanilla Expanded Framework. Try moving it above VEF or do a redownload of the mods tend to fix some issues

Hello there friendly mod author, I'm having a bit of trouble getting your mod to work with Vanilla Armour Expanded - VAE. I see in your mod description it says there is a built in patch to make it function, but when I use them together I get this message in the error log.

[Stuffable Vanilla Armor] Patch operation Verse.PatchOperationFindMod(Vanilla Armour Expanded) failed
file: D:\Steam Games\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\2555543758\Patches\Vanilla_Armors_Expanded.xml

There doesn't seem to be any other mention of the interaction in the logs, and just to be sure I tried adjusting the load order to have your mod above and below VAE with the same results both ways. In-game recipes show "0 ingredients" in the ingredient list which is expected.
