That's what I say. Royal peltasts are not skirmishers. Besides, no real unit was named "Royal Peltasts". In the late hellenistic period, "peltats" refers to skirmishers, even if they didn't bear a pelte anymore, but a thureos (long shield). For the name, "hypaspists" correspond to different types of unit depending on the period, under Philip, Alexander, in late Macedonia... In the late macedonian army hypaspists ceased to exist as a unit, it became a synonym of royal guard.

you wrong bro, Royal peltasts were not skirms but an elite unit of the royal guard. Hypaspistai are same as shield bearers, just different name.
