I'm surprised Peter isn't the vanilla leader of Russia.
Imperitor 12. jan. 2016 kl. 8:16
Author, how can I contact you? I could assist with translation into Russian.
A Servant 29. nov. 2015 kl. 1:16
Peter the great should have been Russias leader in Vanilla
Venusaisha 1. nov. 2015 kl. 12:17
wow that weird, on wikipedia type banya garden came to chinese bay place sort. banya in russian sense is a bath house not garden. peter ruled russia before catherine.
Garuda 1. aug. 2015 kl. 17:28
Huh, its not showing up in my mods list...
Venusaisha 5. juni 2015 kl. 16:59
may have to test both in game in sorrta russian civil war. will let u know what i find when i do.
pip33pen 7. apr. 2015 kl. 6:34
After a little more playing with Chaterina i just realized that every different strategic resource type improved by your cities before you building the Banya wont give you the 10% production. In my game the iron and horses were improved before the banya. Tried to fix it with ingame editor but it wasnt succesful. I guess its a minor bug so if you play with Chaterina you shoudnt improve these resoures before you build or get a free banya with the Hanging gardens. I hope it will be helpful for others.
pip33pen 7. apr. 2015 kl. 3:48
I love this mode. My only problem with Chaterine: Banya dont give me any production bonus. I also wonder is there any chance to enjoy both Peter 1 and Chaterina bonuses? That would be awsome... :)

I think that Peter's trait does not work quite well...
Tutter10 1. feb. 2015 kl. 6:23
Thank you for making this. Have you though of Sweden led by Gustav III with the Bollhuset as a unique. I Understand if you are busy, but I think it would work well. Same as Spain led by Charles III.
Faysal 1. jan. 2015 kl. 22:03
Thank u for this awsome leader and civ!

It works very good on Gedemons awsome world map, better than Catherine in my opinion, cause of the starting area near water and forest/grassland (Saint Petersburg).

I have seen Russia making sense with expanding, much better than Catherine which was just popping cities up in the middle of Siberia/Central Asia.

Now Russia is a real European power, pressing Germany and the Ottomans!

Thank u again for making it TSL compatible!

Awsome!

FYI, Seems like there's some compatibility issue with this and your cultural diversity mod.

Selection screen shows "TXT_KEY_LEADER_JFD_PETER" whenever CD is active.

would be cool to change streltsi to Preobrazensky guards due to reformations ;)
JFD  [ophavsmand] 5. juli 2014 kl. 4:47
@Octave Crymée Thank you. I endeavour to design my civs so that all unique parts work in tandem. This is sometimes contrary to the way the vanilla game has civs designed, which is why things can appear overpowered; when in fact they're often not, because they demand a specific way to play to make the most of them.

I'm glad you found no bugs - that's certainly a rare thing for a modder to hear :)
Octave Crymée 1. juli 2014 kl. 4:55
The Streltsy is a veeery well balanced unit. What I love about your mods is that the units are not overpowered but strategically empowered. The defensive bonus of the Streltsy is a problem if you wanted to go offensive in the late renaissance, but with my huge empire to defend and a good network of keeps around my fronteers (I play with Forteress borders), I managed to repell two massive invasions with acceptable losses.
As a summary, a well balanced mod, absolutely no bugs (it's pleasant, I use to encounter a few troubleshootings using mods), and a cool civ. Thank you a lot for your work !
Octave Crymée 1. juli 2014 kl. 4:55
Hello ! Still testing some of your mods, and I really love this one. I just went to scienfitic victory with Peter's Russia, and I loved everything about it. Well, actually, no : I hate the color, I was a big poopy stain on the map.
But the cultural balance (that has always been my struggle about choosing Liberty) makes it a Poland-like civ with more subtelty. Playing Immortal, with 12 starting cities and the largest country of all, I was still able to finish 3 trees and a half including Esthetics. Yet, I didn't find it too powerfull, as the scientific bonus, really valuable in the early peacetimes, is not that important past the industrial era. Especially as I'm playing with the tech slower Dynamic Eras.

Скажите, а поддержка русского языка есть ?
jccohen 21. juni 2014 kl. 6:32
Well, that's true, but I think getting so many social policies let me do things real easy - I got down liberty, piety, aesthetics, and... uhhh.. the science one who's name I'm blocking on, plus unlocked honor and exploration, before I even got to my ideology, which is not usual for me. So I was just moving forward like crazy. Its still possible I just had a really great combination of factors; the game can vary a lot even when you play the same nation repeatedly because its all complex systems.

In any case, you make some great mods, thanks for all your hard work!
JFD  [ophavsmand] 20. juni 2014 kl. 21:08
@jccohen Thanks for the feedback. Seeing as the Culture Victory has very little to do with Social Policies anymore, it's difficult to say if that directly contributed. But I'll keep this in mind.
jccohen 20. juni 2014 kl. 19:27
I really enjoyed this one. I won the cultural victory earlier than I ever had before, though... so it might be OP? Maybe 25% cost reduction instead of 50%? Or maybe I just had a really good game and it was coincidence. But I really enjoyed it conceptually and of course no one can complain about winning a game...

Thanks for all the great mods!
JFD  [ophavsmand] 8. juni 2014 kl. 16:16
@zArkham4269 At the top of this page, there's a Change Notes tab. You can see the change notes there. Not all are filled out, but I fill out what's important.

I don't believe the game engine is able to handle that sort of thing. But it would be a nice idea.
zArkham4269 8. juni 2014 kl. 11:12
Do you have a change log anywhere like maybe on Civ Fanatics? I noticed today that a lot of your mods were updated but didn't see what changed or if it would break saves.

BTW, is there a mechanism where you could start with one Civ and then as you pick different policies tracks, you could get the option of switching to another leader in that civ? Admitably this wouldn't work for every Civ but could be a way to make more Civs.

I think it would be nice to be able to start with a Civ with early UU and then switch to someone like Lenin with more late UU.
Gefilte Fish 30. maj 2014 kl. 17:09
Since Peter destoyed streltsy, it would make more sense to replace them with a unit that Peter created, like the preobrazhensky guards. Good mod by the way. :) :Morale:
JFD  [ophavsmand] 21. maj 2014 kl. 1:50
@benmcd170 Agreed; Ivan is a fantastic dichotomy of tragedy and horror; misappropriately labelled as a wicked villian by western histories, when really he was a man subject to serious health problems, yet still staunchly pious and an exceptionally capable as a ruler and moderniser. He is no more or less wretched than the next man to call themselves Tsar, one way or another.

Perhaps someone will get him done, just not as yet another leader of Russia, and perhaps then a certain someone will get a certain unique unit moved over ;)
benmcd170 21. maj 2014 kl. 1:40
Fair enough, it was just a suggestion, though I hope someone eventually does him. In some ways I find Ivan more tragic than terrible, especially if you look at the famous painting of him holding his dead son.
JFD  [ophavsmand] 21. maj 2014 kl. 1:32
@benmcd170 I won't be doing Ivan for Russia, no. I'm not the only one who needs to be willing and able.
benmcd170 21. maj 2014 kl. 1:20
I just read the reasoning (which I had kind of guessed was going to be the reason), and while it makes sense, you could use a different unit and create a mod for Ivan the Terrible, with him having the streltsy. Ivan would be an interesting addition, as you would have both a "monstrous" soviet leader with stalin and russian leader with Ivan
JFD  [ophavsmand] 21. maj 2014 kl. 1:11
@benmcd170 It only makes no sense because you don't understand the reasoning behind it, which has been discussed to death.
benmcd170 21. maj 2014 kl. 1:07
While the abilities of Peter make sense (although I would have expected more militaristic abilities, seeing as he was a very much a wartime czar), having the streltsy be his units makes NO sense. Peter destroyed the streltsy for trying to rebel against him while his was touring western europe, although the fact that they helped his half sister Sophia take power in the moscow uprising of 1682 (which made her Peter's regent) may have also had something to do with it. Anyways, not sure if it was an intended irony or not but just saying it does seem odd. I like your other mods though, keep up the good work.
JFD  [ophavsmand] 18. maj 2014 kl. 21:30
@The Man with the Eyebrows Nah, it's just 10% more of your science output, which should have no effect upon your actual Science Per Turn.
Song Bird 18. maj 2014 kl. 19:38
Thanks as always JFD. I could of sworn that your lua code for Peter worked by providing an amount of science equal to your friends science output * 10 /100 at the beginning of each turn when researching a tech which they already have. I'll just attribute it to one of civ v's random glitches.
