Is it possible to remove the block and prepare the entire map for defense manually ? Just like it was in Left 4 Dead ?

Jaiz and I were the only two who didn't lie and manipulate and intimidate the author.
We also don't harass other users or guilty by association with Serious Samurai.
You probably know who I'm referring to.
Certain someone who had an older version only for the music.
Copyrighted music, they could just use separately.
Not even Samurai could keep the music in.
He's just lucky whoever's in charge of the soundtrack hasn't noticed again.
We really don't need other versions floating around causing server problems.
At least with Jaiz and I we had perfectly legit reasons for it.
This is now in great hands with Timelord Magnum 357.

They couldn't be bothered to have a download link when using alternate sites.
And I was also given permission from the real author to modify if I want.
In the future, this version could see more changes and improvements.
Whereas Jaiz version is simply just the original minus the malicious changes.

Ah okay! I did notice those issues with the version Serious Samurai posted but I'm not familiar with everything his version did. Could you tell me? I'm thinking it's a big part of the reason why I wasn't able to play online with friends.

the L4D2 port did originally have them, yes.
of course the original had the first cast because there was only one set in the first L4D.
after L4D2 came along, the original set can be used in a manner similar to The Passing.
we probably could remove them, I can contact my associate, Dave.
like I explained in description, there's plans to make other changes and improvements.

You could try the survivor swap mutation though.

Is there a version that exists with the left 4 dead 1 group instead of the Left 4 dead 2 group? And maybe one without the bots?

This is NOT Samurai's map. He STOLE it and uploaded it without the permission of the original developers, (Age of Chivalry team). Fortunately they regained control due to the admins seeing it was clearly stolen and ported from their mod. There will NOT be a L4d2 version since there shouldn't have even been a L4d1 version! The guy didn't even ask permission, just took it, ported it, and pretended it was his. So stop crying and be grateful the AoC team left this up here at all for people to play once they got control, despite having their work stolen by someone else.

He was 88. Isabella Riggs, an employee of his agents, Markham, Froggatt & Irwin, confirmed the death, in a hospital. She said the cause was an illness related to Parkinson’s disease.
