To connect the monument I recommend using
Extended Roads 1.3 https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1951559397&searchtext=PEDESTRIAN

You use a 3m path and click between the monument and the sidewalk, without releasing until you see that the union between the two turns blue. the result is much more aesthetic because nothing can be seen and the sidewalk is not deformed. I have added a photo so you can see how to use it. Regards.
