nice role play flavor, and its nice that different materialists and spiritualists have differing opinions and are not all agreeing, and a empire with nether materialists or spiritualists can still be religious instead of not thinking about it i guess.

I like the concept on the mod as I love playing as a god etc. But after trying it out I feel I have to switch it back off. The pop-ups are just so annoying, and its like a spam of them back to back every 2/3 months. I think tweaking is needed or some way to silence them.

This is a replacement for factions, will there be none then?
And in general, I've long wanted a mod, or a vanilla patch that would give galactic ideologies. Including religious cults, but not only - something that unites intelligent beings in the name of some overly important ideas, goals and values.
And so that each ideology would almost always spread to varying degrees across multiple countries, there would be their own events, rise and fall, feuding ideologies, positive and negative influences within empires, choices for the AI/player to interact with, even rebellions and relics.

Is there a way to turn off the "Religious Riots" notification? There's nothing I can do about the riots and the notification sounds off constantly.

Some bugs going on with the heresy events and such in my most recent game, got heresy and beat it twice and then still had a bunch of issues with pops being the wrong religion.

What are all the modifiers? I got blindsided by polytheism taking away part of my physics research so I want to be able to know what drawbacks different religions have.

Is there a way to decrease/stop negative events? As a fanatic materialist/egalitarian empire I keep getting the suicide cult event. My empire is materialist and most planets are materialist, but some are secularist or atheist. Roughly the same with pops, there might be some small number of other religions too. I've tried all the religion policies and still got the negative event with each, wasn't sure if any decreased it.

I'm also having an issue where that didn't pop up. Can I trigger the event manually to keep that save, or should I make a new one entirely after I figure put what the issue is?

This is really cool! Why are secularism, atheism and materialism separate things though? Also kind of sad to see the sacrifices civic disabled. Religion should be a feature in the game already.

Well, Scripted Trigger Undercoat was an interesting experiment, but due to the outstanding bugs and slow response time of the mod author, it simply isn't viable for my mods to continue to rely upon it. Over the next few weeks I will be making a much stripped back version for use with my mods. I will try to make it compatible with STU, in case it ever gets its act together in the future.

In the meantime, I would recommend using the version of STU available on my patreon. If you have never downloaded a Stellaris mod manually before, I would suggest you google how to do that.

Scripted Trigger Undercoat is still not updated, but I uploaded a temp version you can use until it gets an official update (don't use both the temp fix and the official mod, or you will run into problems).

Scripted Trigger Undercoat isn't a patch, it is a utility, like the Universal Modifier patch. Those should be placed near the top.

Just a heads up: when I next update my mod (probably after the 3.8 comp patch), it will require Scripted Trigger Undercoat, so I would recommend downloading it now. Place it on the top of your load order (but below any other patches)

@Relanor: The reason why people want to add a religion system to Stellaris, I think, is that in general the existing "Spiritualism" system is nonsensical. All Spiritualists are the same thing, based solely on a belief in mind-over-matter monism, and heavily focus on psionic technology. Meanwhile, in real life none of this ever happens, and what you believe in matters just a little bit more than how much you believe . Because the existing treatment of religion in the game is nonsensical, it breaks verisimilitude, and modders have added more sophisticated systems, not because they're "dragging religion into their entertainment", but because religion already exists within the entertainment and they want to improve it.
