@LiterallyBeenVibing I'm not getting the added Ice table when just using IO without this mod addon

For those coming here trying to find Bauxite, hinge your rover/flyer to large grid and use the large grid metal detector to find it. The small grid can't locate it from the surface.

I don't have an answer yet for gold. I am a moon start and I think I might have to go to asteroids for it (or the market) to make the normal detector, which I believe has a longer range than the mod-added metal detector.

seeing that the dev isn't getting back to anyone is this mod dead or does it still work?

@ kenlon it can happen, i was doing a playthrough and literally was starting to push out past 15k radius before i found my first oilsand patch and about 17k out was bauxite... that was on mars and was definately a rough start for the modlist i was running

Does this mod work on mod planets?

Will this work with better stone?

When adding this mod, the ore detector finds Ice everywhere. This doesn't happen with just IO.

I think I hit a buggy spawn, but maybe because I accidentally had the module below the main mod first, didn't get any smaller asteroids at all (but a big one where I set up a base). After switching the module load order, asteroids have been spawning in like they used to.

However, I got Niter in space and literally everything else in a cluster of several smaller asteroids (except for Tantalum and Coal). Did I just got incredible lucky on that one or is that a bugged spawn?

I've covered a radius of about 10km around my base and found no bauxite. Given that you can't actually build useful cargo blocks without aluminum, this is an issue.

Am I just horribly unlucky? Can other people confirm that bauxite is spawning properly for them? (I'm using 1km radius ore detectors, so unless it's spawning ludicrously deep, I should see it.)

To fix the problem with the scanner range, change this mod to load AFTER the main mod.
Do not load it "ABOVE" as the core file will then overwrite this mod.

I don't know if this will mess with ore generation, as I changed it mid save.

I hope this helps some lost souls like myself :P

@Ozi It probably depends on how low tech you're going. Ore detectors are pretty cheap and will spot ore down to about 1km. As for how to get it out, I would pair this these mods with the pipelines and power lines mods and build big recursive push drills at each enormous ore patch and connect them all up with a system of pipelines. Very satisfactory!

Otherwise spin in place and right click drill until the desired depth, if you're a true masochist :)

While I like the idea of deep ores, has someone found a way to get to deep ores like coal with low tech? 400 meters is quite a way for low tech drilling.

Do we need to start a new game in order to get the new ore generation? Or can we just apply it to an already started game

What does oil do ingame? Is it just an alternate fuel?

I ask especially as I cannot find any ores even with an ore detector cranked up to 1,000m, despite covering a good 10 square KM.
Bunnies&Cherris 5. juli 2021 kl. 21:53
To double check, the ore veins HAVE been increased in size? I see the "Ore vein thickness has also been increased to approximately 50m" but I just worry I'm being dumb and misunderstanding.
