Well, you see, these designs were made before we had the idea to reference the Redstone Monstrosity. So Mel decided to leave these as an add-on.

Why not combine the two aspects?
Make them out of iron, but powered with redstone, like in the original pack.

Or, y'know, have a head-cannon that these ones already are powered by redstone, you just can't see it through all the metal.
