1.6 has added a new feature that allows animal crossbreeding

"Animals can cross-breed with other species, if configured in XML. Currently this is only used in one situation in Odyssey. E.g.

@Mlie What I care about is: Gulden Sheep fitting in the Sheep category and Capricorns fitting in the Horse category. Low priority for Gulden Rats being Rats and Runic Bears mating with Bears. Idk whether it really makes sense for Rabbitgaroos to mate with Hares or Rabbits, they're more unique rodents. But that's all of 'em :). Thanks for the response!

I've been looking through the files and how to make a proper patch so my question is sort of gone. Though I have noticed that this mod has mentions about compatible races (such as different dog breeds which are all still dogs) and hybrid races (such as horses/donkeys, lions/tigers) that make different animals at different rates.

Bassically what I want to do is have some animals be able to breed close animals, but need a pure bloodline for getting them as an offspirng (such as a Royal Thrumbo can breed with a regular Thrumbo, but to get a Royal Thrumbo can only be born from two Royal Thrumbos).

I also want to make it so that some animals can breed with hybrids based on them but not with other hybrids (such as a Thrumbo can breed with a Thrumbo/Muffalo Hybrid and a Thrumbo/Warg hybrid, but those two hybrids can't breed with each other. I think I can do that if I add them to some new animal groups though, assuming an animal can be in multiple groups at once.

Is there a checklist/guide on what to add to patch other mods animals?
I want to make it so that hybrids from Vanilla Genetics Expanded (https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2801160906) can breed with other hybrids (ie. if something is half muffalo then it can breed with a normal muffalo or some other muffalo hybrid).

More Thrumbos are not able to mate with others(normal thrumbos, royal thrumbos etc)

Hello Mlie! I love this mod. Thank you so much for updating it! Is there any way you could add a patch for the mod FCP - Dogmeat? I only have one of the dogs from that mod and she doesn't currently seem to be able to breed with any of my other dogs. TYSM!

in my game male animals are able to mate/impregnate females of compatible species even after I've sterilized him! Male Great Dane/Female German Shepherds from Vanilla Animals Expanded (the consolidated version they made for 1.4)

It seems when my husky (male) bred with my terrier (female) I got 100% terriers. Ten out of ten. Is this intended? I was hoping for useful huskies. Not terriers. I ended up sterilizing all the terriers.

Also RIP to that newborn terrier than got a catastrophic failure during neutering by the level 9 surgeon. Pretty sure they went in blind with that many cuts and slashes. I ended up just putting it down. Poor baby.

oh! sorry...so when I saw alpacas can breed with camels for example, cows with cattle etc I assumed this mod just made any animal within the same species able to mate. So for donkeys I cant find the species but IRL are able to mate with horses to have mules and hinnies (which would obvs need mods to add them, which my brain hadn't got that far....sorry to have bothered you and once again thank you for all your amazing work

Lothlen, I submitted the issue to their git and they had it fixed in 20 minutes. If you see issues with a mod in the future, I recommend reporting it on their git as well as in comments, as they may have a faster response on their git if they use it.

Changed the patches to conditional instead so should hopefully work with whatever mods get renamed to

My mistake - it looks like none of the dogs from VAE can mate with each other. Might be something to do with the new Vanilla Animals compilation pack?

Poodles from VAE can't seem to mate with any other dogs.
