The original model did not appear to have finger posing, this is a direct port in its purest. Also my Blenderbending skills are sub-par.

You edit the file using GIMP and make a loader color of your choice, use VTFEdit to turn it into a correctly named texture and PRESTO! There are some helpful tutorials out there if you aren't sure how it works. You have to be familiar with both GIMP and the hl2 material format.

hey since I wouldn't know a thing about models or rigging them, is there any chance of someone getting the model for one of the nomads? Most preferably the ones that carry shields?

I do not know anything about modeling (I used a bunch of tutorials and plugins to pretty much automate the process) so I cannot make physics collisions thingamajiggas. And hence, no gmod.
