Yes any mods will make Ironman mode inaccessible

I'm fairly certain you can play this with Ironman mode and still get achievements. If you want to be sure, enable the mod, and when you turn Ironman mode on, you should have a green tick (meaning achievements are enabled) rather than a yellow one (which is Ironman, minus achievements).
