Can I add this into an existing save or would I need to import? Im assuming the shops just stock them once they refresh.
G0UD13 30. juni kl. 13:08
Will this work with BFE (Biome Food Expansion) - which just adds more food recipes to the existing ingredients? I'm not sure how the pricing works, but BFE had imbalanced nutrient to price levels, and I was trying to find something to fix it.

Thank you for making the Foodcubes 2x2. This is significantly more sensible.

I am cautious about your changes to food, food balance, and food economy, since I am quite familiar with vanilla balance, but I will try it and see how it plays...
Ġedryht of Wōden 2. juli 2024 kl. 14:05
This seems like it'd conflict with my economy mods, however I'm going to give it a shot anyway.

Also, I sent you a friend request, I would like to chat with you about mod making if you don't mind. I would totally understand if you decline my request tho.
Asilar 21. mar. 2024 kl. 13:32
Thanks for your answer. I understand your statement, but Foodcubes recipe is also bread + raw veggies, and meatballs is bread+raw meat. I can understand that meatballs is a little more hard to get because you can't farm it like you do with farming plots. That's why I was wondering what made you choose dustwich only being T3. Your answer make sense, but if I think of it by recipe, I still think dustwich and foodcube could be at the same tier. But it's your mod, and it's a great overhaul of the nutrition system, as you other mods are also great. So thanks !
Rebitaay  [ophavsmand] 20. mar. 2024 kl. 21:46
Bread is tier 4 because it's just bread. Boring and not nutritious. A Dustwich is sliced bread with cactus, so hardly much more than bread but maybe a bit more "exciting," meaning it's slightly more preferable over bread. It's by no means good food, but better than its ingredients alone, so it's a tier up from bread.
Asilar 19. mar. 2024 kl. 6:39
Hi ! Thanks for this mod. I have a question : why dustwich is T3 because its recipe is bread+raw ingredient, like foodcube or Meatwrap ?
Rebitaay  [ophavsmand] 30. juni 2022 kl. 10:12
@Goncyn - Much appreciated! Glad you found a workaround.
Goncyn 29. juni 2022 kl. 18:51
I figured out how to make a tiny mod that removes the new research you added (because it's redundant with UKP)! Thanks for all your mods. They're great. :steamhappy:
Rebitaay  [ophavsmand] 29. juni 2022 kl. 8:07
@Goncyn - I'm not familiar with that mod, so I'm not sure how it goes about adding its crafting recipe. I reckon with both mods loaded, one may overwrite the recipe of the other (the later-loaded mod winning), or you'll just have two different crafting recipes. Either way, it should "work" just fine.
Goncyn 29. juni 2022 kl. 5:40
I really like the sound of this mod. Unofficial Kenshi Patch already adds Ration Packs to the Advanced Cooking tech, though, which is an unfortunate overlap! I don't suppose one will overwrite the other?
Rebitaay  [ophavsmand] 5. sep. 2021 kl. 17:50
@Teridax - Thank you, that's exactly what I hoped to achieve with this mod.
Teridax 5. sep. 2021 kl. 13:23
I must say, i love this mod.
Downloaded the whole sensible x mods of you but i still have to take advantage of training dummies and martial arts.

I tried "flashy" mods which added new food and such, one of them even managed to mimic the icon style of the base game ... and yet i only ate cooked meat in the beginning and ration packs would be still the best in space efficiency later on.

But with this mod, i suddenly started to buy other food.
Hell, combined with a trading route mod, when i visited the swamp, i grabbed lots of gohan because it went from an expensive joke to a 135 nu monster and the trading mod added a nice 25% discount for it in the swamp.
Rice bowls had an even bigger 50% discount but i want some space efficency too.

Suddenly, i am actually thinking about my food choices because there are legit pros and cons to all of them.

alright thank you
Rebitaay  [ophavsmand] 4. sep. 2021 kl. 17:35
@Fourth Reich ft. Annie Lööf - It's an unfortunate side-effect of altering the prices of items that are used as ingredients to craft other items. When an item is craftable, its value is determined by the combined value of its ingredients, plus a profit modifier.

I'm aware of the issue, but there is no way to completely circumvent it. I've already tweaked profitability modifiers for several things to lessen the impact of this side-effect, but it ultimately cannot be prevented. I take the sacrifice since I believe the overall balance of food is, in general, far more important. But I understand if others don't see it that way.
Ramesh 4. sep. 2021 kl. 9:29
for me this mod doubles the prices of hashish and for sleeping bags and probaly some more items i haven't found yet
Ramesh 4. sep. 2021 kl. 8:18
Does this mod alter the prices of hashish?
🍈ₘₑₗₒₙ 3. aug. 2021 kl. 22:03
This is a great mod. You are a treasure.
Rebitaay  [ophavsmand] 25. juni 2021 kl. 16:34
@Darkaxt - I have no experience with GenMod, and have no interest in it. So unfortunately, a patch from myself is unlikely, but hopefully someone else will make one sometime.
Darkaxt 25. juni 2021 kl. 5:21
Any chance for a compatibility patch for GenMod?

I have done it myself for Sensible Training, but this is not so straight forward.
Rebitaay  [ophavsmand] 8. juni 2021 kl. 21:29
@Mazza - No, but it affects how filling each food type is.
TheHydraulicAmor 8. juni 2021 kl. 18:20
Does this mod affect the hunger rate go down slow ?
Ivellios 15. maj 2021 kl. 17:06
Now there's a reason for other foods besides ingredients to make ration packs!

I guess I won't need to have all of my people eating a 100% dried meat diet until i can make ration packs (and their ingredients).
Joe 14. maj 2021 kl. 4:35
will give it a whirl !!!!!!!
Rebitaay  [ophavsmand] 13. maj 2021 kl. 14:36
@Archangel - It may possibly require an import for the new prices to take effect, but I don't think it does.
Archangel 13. maj 2021 kl. 10:47
Does this mod require an import to use?
Lomion 13. maj 2021 kl. 8:20
@JOE the boomer Try combining it with this mod: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1776285051
Joe 8. maj 2021 kl. 18:33
thank you sir ! i look forward to re downloading!!!
Rebitaay  [ophavsmand] 8. maj 2021 kl. 17:56
@JOE the boomer - Thanks for the info, I will look into it when I can. Unfortunately I am unable to to any Kenshi modding for the time being.
Joe 8. maj 2021 kl. 17:43
so mod has a bug i had to uninstall.
they wont auto make Gohan anymore ive checked doubled checked and tripled checked i think its because rice bowl and cooked veggies are finished food items and the characters wont take them out of storage.
can you fix this ?
Calfurious 7. maj 2021 kl. 23:00
Hey swamp raptors, according to text by the Tech Hunters, are supposed to only have foul meat. Apparently they're intended to be almost completely inedible.
Rebitaay  [ophavsmand] 30. mar. 2021 kl. 15:23
@Ronin - It's not exactly intended, but can't be avoided, unfortunately. Changing ingredient prices will change the price of every item that uses it. It was a "pick you poison" kind of deal, and I picked better food balance.
Ronin 30. mar. 2021 kl. 14:06
hey so i noticed that for some reason this mod really jacked up the price of fabric and medicine. i am guessing that is unintended but fabric was costing about 350 cats as i remember. this also jacked up the prices of basic first aid kits. just as a fyi because i dont think that is intended
Rebitaay  [ophavsmand] 21. mar. 2021 kl. 16:32
@MUK-Bang - That was an old plan, which I scrapped. There error here is the description, which went through several drafts during creation. Thanks for catching that.
Babaloo321 21. mar. 2021 kl. 15:14
I'm looking at this in FCS and it looks like foodcubes are still in Advanced Cooking, not Ration Cooking. Is this intended?
Rebitaay  [ophavsmand] 10. mar. 2021 kl. 15:22
@Nigma - This mod won't be able to cover the new food (fried fish) that Crow's mod adds, but that's not necessarily bad, depends on the stats of the new food. This mod will cover the existing fish that you catch though, so long as this mod is loaded below it (since that mod also modifies some fish nutrition values).

Glad you're liking the mods, thanks!
[VK] AEnigma 10. mar. 2021 kl. 14:22
Would this mod be compatible with mods like "Crow's World Gone Fishing"? Also would the nutritional changes in this mod effect food gathered from the fishing mod?

Love the "Sensible" mods btw, adding them all to my next playthrough.
Rebitaay  [ophavsmand] 7. mar. 2021 kl. 15:12
@Tenath - The way I see it, a dried and preserved food should have less nutrition, and is less appealing and appetizing, therefore less valuable. Yes, Dried Meat as is the same as Raw Meat, but it wouldn't smell nearly as bad! In case you didn't know, all characters can eat "raw" fish, unlike raw meat. That said, logic isn't always applicable to many of Kenshi's food dishes - preservation isn't even real since food does not expire!

Rationale aside, the real reason, as described in the mod's description, is that all food was balanced using a quality tier system. Raw fish was either Tier 3 or Tier 4. If it were Tier 4, it would be just the same as dried fish. I believed that it should have more nutrition and value than its dried form since, unlike meat, all characters can eat the "raw" form. If you'd like, you are more than welcome to edit the fish to your liking using the FCS.

Regardless, thanks for sharing the concern. Hope you enjoy if you continue to use the mod.
Tenath 7. mar. 2021 kl. 11:52
Not entirely convinced that raw fish (Thinfish, Grand Fish) should be more nutritious (and valuable!) than processed (Dried Fish), the rest of it looks good.
Rebitaay  [ophavsmand] 5. mar. 2021 kl. 4:56
Thanks, hope you enjoy!
moai 5. mar. 2021 kl. 4:53
good stuff dude :dustwich:
