At least Sahar promotes this mod via proximity. I heard her DD1 mod port is steadily approaching. It'll be funny to have two Duelists... although are you thinking about renaming Kasey's class?

like a skin of the dd2 character? sure I guess? there's probably some people making full mods of the dd2 duelist who'd appreciate the art more than I would, though- but they might already have some (the runaway was backported independently and I think this is the goal of project iron crown)
but generally skins can be placed over other mods without messing with their files, so it should be fine

Do you mean stalling? It's not labeled as a stall invalidating skill.
Hitting is actually not relevant afaik, you just need to use skills the game deems as capable of killing. Disarm doesn't deal much damage, and if it was marked as stall invalidating it would make stalling even more trivial than it is.

in my test,Disarm won't stop the reinforcement,it won't be counted as a hit like other skills,maybe is a bug.

Fun random mod lore fact, there was a VERY infamous mod called Runaway that never released, before the DD2 Runaway.
From what I gather, Duelist appeared in the community showcase due to the community moderators having authority over that, not the devs personally picking.
And if we modders could blacklist names by using them, they'd be struggling at this point.

Darkest Dungeon 2 just announced DLC with a character called The Duelist. Did they buy the rights to your character or is it another Duelist?

Oh: just to note, the 'redux' as I'm calling it is planned to be a patch mod, I'll leave normal duelist how she is, potentially with an update to the trinket limits to match modern mod standards.
You will hopefully be able to choose which one you want without having to worry about install oddness, just enable/disable the patch at your preference.

I actually did one before I got told yesterday! It won't be a redesign to fit dd2 however.
I mostly aimed to fix trinket jank and make feint/disarm more appealing.
It's untested and I'm expecting computer issues when uploading it, so don't hold your breath, but I am working on it (slowly).

Riposte tends to balance it's damage via debuffs, because you can't alter the riposte's base stats in the game files.
The -20% at one activation should still be more damage per riposte than her normal riposte, and it's short lived, so it only makes each riposte after the first from it each round worse- the first is better than a normal riposte, the second is on par, and the third is equal to an unleveled riposte.

Overall though, you should probably put acc on the duelist, like with basically any other attack class, if you don't have battle ballad to buff it, or expect to always have her camping skills up.
An earlier version of duelist had higher acc than normal but it was deemed overpowered and brought down to the max damage acc usually allowed.

Reflective guard is a messy trinket and unfortunately I couldn't get it to display properly, and I'm unsatisfied with the execution of the concept.

What is the best trinket set up to use with the Reflective Guard on Duelist? I feel like this is a good trinket, but I don't like the -20% riposte debuff on being hit, since it almost seems to make his overall riposting worse.

the class fits fencer fantasy really well and easy enough to understand from the get go. tbh, I despite modded classes with riposte with passions but gladly this isn't one of them.

OH and if you're wondering why the animator for duelist didn't do the watcher it's because they were too busy animating like 30 other mods during that timeframe.

Here's all the ones that might get finished ever, there was one more class mod and one enemy mod that had no realistic chance to get made due to other issues but it seems like I removed them from this collection ages ago.
Note that they won't have any real art, at best you'll get static images that aren't animated, you should expect base game hero art and animations- but most of them should be relatively complete and balanced.
They were due for a final polish check over mechanics that never came because I'd have done that after art.

@RxEZ All the code is done (as of like 1-2 weeks after the duelist came out), most of the art is done (barring trinket art), but I never found an animator each time I looked that costed less than the price of the art, so I just waited. They might come out eventually because there's been a few new animators/time has passed to free some, but I'd have to remember how to put everything together, so it will still take time. I guess at this point I can publicly post all of the like 5 beta mods I have- some of them had other problems and will never get made, while others would have followed soon after the watcher if not for the animator issues.

Skill issue.

The character is weak as fuck, vanilla characters activate riposte with an attack, this one activates it with self mark LOL. His main attack relies on stealth and low torch at the same time which is absurd, i subscribed, read his skills , unsibscribed, dont even wanna test him.

Exactly as advertised, this is another frontliner with a bit of bleed here and riposte there. Iirc, she really has low hp but nothing skilled players cant deal with. She is in line with vanilla characters, if that is your thing.

if you are having issue with the CoM (Color of Madness) trinket where the riposte doesnt activate change the trigger from was_hit_additional_effects to attack_skill_additional_effects

Hi the crystalline guard trinket doesn't work, the riposte doesn't proc but the buffs do

Th riposte features of the reflective guard crystalline trinket don't work.

I've tried alot of modded classes and this one is one of the best balanced classes out there. Very well done! He feels like he fits in the game perfectly. I love his riposte and the back pedal and then stab works very well. One of my favs from now on. awesome job!

he might be able to solo with backpedals infinite stealth because as it runs out he can do damage and keep himself hidden so theoretically i will test this later but i want to try and solo the hag or swine god similiar to flaggy method

my only probelm is hes overpowered in levels 0-3 but past that hes great and ive noticed lighting that makes him look like hes always in the spotlight but i feel like it fits his personality and i wouldnt mind it staying

I absolutely love it and it feels like he has grave robber skills but the opposite play style with his come at me and en guard abilities really make him one of my favorite mods right now and im so happy i found it, only issue is he needs more skins lol but the one right now is so amazing and i love the animations :D

Jesus! You guys completely nailed the duelist look and feel! Every skills plays amazing and is in theme with the class's name, the animations are incredible and the model is gorgeous!

My only small complaint, as other people bellow me said, is that I wish she had additional pallets!

As bloated as my save is already, I do hope you continue to create new classes!
