I might be a little (like a few years, lol) late with this, but I just noticed a small mistake - The book lists "Damage Stamina" as one of the effects of Frost Mirriam. It should be "Damage Stamina Regen" though.

Otherwise I'm absolutely in love with this book.

I discovered the shack way back on my character and went to check for the book today, but couldn't see it

These kinds of mods tend to be my favorite. Beautiful work.
Et tu, B? 20. nov. 2018 kl. 15:21
I really like the cover of the book, not many in the base game have a unique design, only really do the master spell books have one and some journels
Vampire Woona 4. nov. 2018 kl. 1:03
EDIT OF PREVIOUS COMMENT: I realized afterwards that the potion recipes teaching ingredient effects was because I have a mod for that, and it is not how they function in vanilla. So apologies for what I said earlier.
Vampire Woona 2. nov. 2018 kl. 6:29
I love this mod for the immersion, but honestly I'm slightly dissapointed that it doesnt instantly teach your character all the effects upon reading it the first time, like all those little "potion recipe" notes do... I mean, I understand why you didnt make that a feature, as it would be mildly cheaty and then I'd only ever need to read the book once, but still...

Suggestion:

The book could be a personal alchemist note book:
Blank at the beginning and the more you discover the effects of ingedients, the more it would be enriched.

If you have the book with you at an alchemy stand, it could provide some other functionalities when you are doing some Alchemy:
Store the combination of ingredient you already tried + store the results in a diary section of the note book, it would allow to infer the effects an ingredient has NOT, based on the trials you already made and the known effects of the ingredients. + When you are trying a combination of ingredients, you should be informed if you already tried this combination.

Additional items, sheets, would be found as a loot in the dungeons or purchased to some "specialists" and they would contain some Information about a random ingredient. Reading them would add an info in the note book, and it would add a small XP amount in Alchemy

that's just great... it doesn t kill the roleplay by adding too much, it just make me enjoying alchemist for the first time. Great work
RGM  [ophavsmand] 10. dec. 2016 kl. 6:46
I haven't been here in a long long time, but I'm very happy to see people still enjoying the mod.

About Skyrim Special edition. I can't convert it myself because of technical reasons, in other words my internet can't handle a 25 gig download. There is a version of this for SSE - PC on Nexus uploaded by Xarxee with my permission, but I don't think he did a console version, at least not as far as I know.

If anyone else wants to port it to XBox I think that would be great. As far as I'm concerned this mod is now totally open for anyone to do what they want with it.

I don't think it would work with PS4 because of Sony's limitation on including extra files, but maybe there could be a work around for it. Anyway have a good Christmas guys. :steamhappy:

Found a mistake in a book. It states that the fourth property of Frost Mirriam is damage stamina, but it isn't. It's damage stamina regeneration. Still, a must-have mod )
RGM  [ophavsmand] 21. juni 2015 kl. 9:32
Sorry to here this isn’t working for you. The implementation of this mod is so simple that it should always work, there is not much that can go wrong. Are you using any other mod that makes changes the Alchemist’s shack? If so then something could have knocked the book out of place or be covering it.

You could give yourself the book using a console command. If you don’t know how to open the console, look at the left side of your keyboard where the tab key is, above the tab key is another key with a squiggly line, that key will toggle the console on or off.

To give your self the book you need to know it’s form ID and it’s load order #. The form ID is 002DB3 and that needs to be preceded by the hexadecimal load order number.

With the console open type in: Help “alchemist’s compendium” 4 with the quote marks around the name. This might give you something like 0A002DB3

So command is: Player.additem 0a002db3 1 the #1 at the end is the quantity you want.

RGM  [ophavsmand] 29. apr. 2015 kl. 15:50
There really wasn't an update it's the same file. Here's what happened. when I first uploaded this to Steam there was no category for Alchemy, so I had to list it under other categories and hope that people would find it.

Now Steam has an Alchemy category but it wouldn't let me change the category unless I was updating the file, so I had ti trick it into thinking that I was updating. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused, but hopefully it will now be easier for people to find this file here at Steam.

Thank you. :)

This mod is on Nexus http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51077/?
The name is very slightly different because Nexus wont let you use an apostrophe in the title, so if you type in a search the way it's spelled here it might not come up. On Nexus it is just Alchemist Compendium.
Bigwhitehound 29. apr. 2015 kl. 7:43
Love the mod, most useful book in game. Can't find it on Nexus (link please?) Would donate IF on nexus.
Vampire Woona 27. apr. 2015 kl. 21:42
dunno why, but your latest update unsubscribed me in the launcher even though im still technically subscribed. only a minor nuisance since i can easily un-tick and re-tick subscribe to fix it, but i'd figure i'd let you know in case its a widespread thing.

Great work.. Thanks !
dajd196 16. jan. 2015 kl. 17:29
This is a stunning book - great work.
Would you consider an inclusion whereby reading the relevant volumes you character learns the effects for each ingredient, i.e. once you've read the book each ingredient shows up all effects instead of unknown?
Rokkvi 30. dec. 2014 kl. 8:07

I don't know If I will really use this book because I have the game guide and a tablet but it is one of those things that should be dispalyed proudly by your alchemy station. plus I'm sure it took many hours to make and looks real good.
Talyn Firelock 6. okt. 2014 kl. 18:44
LOVE this bok, I am an avid alchemist, this makes things so much easier. Thanks
Angel 3. okt. 2014 kl. 9:07
Any plans to make a sister book to this that lists probable locations where these ingredients can be found? Obviously there are some ingredients that would be weird to list in a book(Looking at you, human flesh), but for ingredients that are plants, bits of animals, whole animals, etc.. such a book would be very helpful.
