it's a drive in theater speaker. you would mount it on the window of your car so you could hear the movie.

have you ever seen the episode of "King of
Queens" where Doug got angry at this
drive-in mascot and beat the crap out
of it because the person speaking through
the speaker mouthed off to him? This
reminded me of that for some reason,
