are there blueprints for the welders etc? or does this need the Subgrid BPs mod

All good - the script in it was handy, I saw how you did the timers then wrote a new script to remove the need for timer blocks.

Now you just enter start or stop into the PB :steamhappy:

Honestly, I'm truly surprised. Things as complicated as this printer bay tend to break with game updates. I haven't used it for awhile, so I had no idea whether it still worked. Thanks for letting me know.

This works just fine :)

It's been awhile since I used this, and the way pistons work now is no doubt different than when I originally designed and use this thing. I would be quite surprised if it still works.

Try shared inertia on the first block, not on the subsequent pistons/ rotors or hinges.
Might make klang happy. Up the forces.

They allow one piston, but not two? Weird.
Dots 15. feb. 2022 kl. 5:40
what i meant is that they didn't allow that many pistons however a printing wall made out of well
umm.. welders and ONE piston that pulls out the projector would have been allowed.

I'm sure sorry to hear that. The only way to avoid that kind of stuff is to set up your own server.

I went to build this on a server and attached it to a starter survival base and got banned for it due to high PCU. Admin came in and removed base and said goodbye. Banned! good luck! Like what does that have to do with luck?! :cozycastondeath:

Haaa, this is awesome. I will totally use this. I actually pasted the Nexus Galaxia into a solo world once, sawed off the module with its massive printer bay, and slapped it onto a current project with some (extensive) aesthetic changes, but the internals were too good to tweak at all. Now it's even smaller and more accessable!

No problem. I really wanted a couple pistons on it to make it look more robust, but Lord Clang took ownership and I eventually kicked that concept to the curb. I also wanted to use welders at every other location (kind of a checkerboard pattern), but that wouldn't get everything welded correctly. If you're interested, a bigger (and my original) version is given here:

OH MY GOD!!!! I neeeed this. Thank you. Thank you. I've tried to make my own a few times and they have summoned Lord Clang.

Ok fair enough

As I mentioned in the description, it welds my three AutoMiners perfectly every time, and all in about 2 minutes at 1-1-1 realistic settings (faster for higher settings). That's good enough for me.
Quickshadow10m 3. dec. 2020 kl. 12:36
Although those printers work, they either A: Are too fast and don't welder, or B: Weld to slow
So this, saves materieals, makes it simpler to use, and alot less buggy. I have used the sliding pistions AND the sliding projector, neither are as good as this, I am confidant enough to leave for lunch and leave it printing, and I will come back to a finished ship. This over all is alot better for survival and especialy Survival MP. Less PCU, and quicker+more reliable. Also, the reason it makes it less klangy, is that instead of pulling one direction, it welds like a player, far enough away for hitboxes not to hit. So no collisions. I can tell by the fact that it looks like it would work in real life, and not have it weighing down the pistion. I have heavily tested it (In Survival servers) I havee built it I don't know how many times, all my bases have one, some ships even. I build this before my first ship! It is that much easier. I use this to print my autominers.

Thanks for the suggestion, although I'm not really seeing how a lot more pistons make it less klangy. I understand that it's just a script, but in all the testing I've done with my design, it's been rock-solid for me. I cannot, however, attest to its stability on a MP server.
Quickshadow10m 3. dec. 2020 kl. 11:37
Hey, here is a script for better performace, less klang, and more effective! Alot more early game!

Not klangy, and I tested that sucker a lot in survival mode.
Wolverine 1. dec. 2020 kl. 21:18
Klang will be pleased
