Oh i never handled these types of mods myself. I had someone else make them work online. The person who did it never told anyone (including me) how it was done for fear of being exploited but he did gladly helped me make them work online when i asked. I think after a year or 2, after asking him again he did tell me the method but i forgot it. Its been about 6 years since i made stuff like these so im of no help, sorry.

He also told me that it wont always work and can affect how other files function. Maybe it depends on what it is you are trying to edit

Hola, I want to ask how to keep the same file size after changing UTX. I didn't have any problems changing the other ClientSide map files. I changed the GUID value when I was creating the weapon skin, but the ClientSide file didn't work, I kept getting stuck in the loading screen and the game crashed when I loaded it into the server

Well, i'm usually playing on semi-abandoned servers with no active coders behind them, so nothing ever changes even if broken. Other than that - yes, i know what you mean. For example, on the server that i'm mosty playing, there are at least 3 different versions of the M32, and some weapons (like M99) do not change their texture even if i am modding it and it shows my modded texture on all other servers, but on that server it still has the default texture.

Oh yeah cant really say much for custom servers since thats its own thing. Still with custom servers, the host could always just make a quick script (literally in 3 seconds) to have any gun that uses the dot sight and redirect it to a custom one. This way players could be forced to use a red one or literally any color.

2nd option is these textures can be applied as a custom weapon. When i started making these skins, TWI released the 1st golden weapon pack but they didn't have the coding down right so it lead to players dual wielding the same weapons. Because of that i went with a clientside reskin instead of the originally planned mutator. I had planned on adding more stuff like sounds, icons and effects. I dont mind if a server would run my reskins as custom weapons. It would just be a copy and paste of code and renaming/redirecting.

Also, medic darts are extremelyglitchy and hard to hit, especially, when players move fast and chaotic, so holosights on medguns also help alot, actually.

Well, yeah, kinda. At least, in "vanilla" KF. Which i don't play for years by now. On custom servers there are times when you have to aim at monsters that are very far from you. Especially with GLs based on the M32 model. And M32 also has a headshot bonus,even if it sounds wierd.

Yeah i was aware of the universally used red dot and how the purple dot effected almost all holosights. I do feel like the KF has really well gunplay so players can really hipfire everything with great success. Even when you ads, you just know where you need to aim your gun at.

The SCAR is kinda interesting too, but the downside is that it changes all of the red dot sights in the game (those of MP7, MP5, Benelli XM1014 Combat Auto Shotgun, M32, and any other weapon that is using the same red dot sight texture file fortheir sights) from red to purple. It suits some custom skins, but forsome weapons it just looks wierd, and is harder to see when you aim at something bright, that in case with the standart red dot.

I'm not a fan of MLP, but the AA-12 skin is just awesome.

I downloaded the file, placed the UTX file into textures in the Killing Floor game location, but it still won't show up in game? Am i doing something wrong?

Yeah, I always planned on remaking these ones, i already did with my Gentleman's revolver, though idk how to use KF2 uploader.

I also had plans for other reskins for KF1 that i never got a chance to do, to now get them done in KF2.

the mediafire link was removed by some filter i guess the added not to long ago but its the only way to instal the mod correctly

subscribing dosen't download and instal mods that overwrite other files
unless it puts it in a diffrent file
