Isn't it his freedom of choice to release the content he made how he pleases? Also, I never used his minigun mod, tbh I don't use most of the vanilla weapon remakes besides his Patriot and the sidearms, so.

you guys are tying to rationalize the concept of retstricting other people's freedom of choice. in the rare circumstance where it is not justified. it legit hurts absolutely nobody to let others play how they see fit. the ONLY time such a think should be restricted is if it greatly interferes with the game. either causing unplayable frame rate drops. causes to bots to not behave the way they should of it it actually crashes the game.

"i said so" is NOT a justfyable reason to remove others freedom of choice nor would it will ever be. you HAVE to ""get off"" on the idea of controling or having power overs to restrict such things for no GOOD reason. therefore any justifycation for this is just straight up mental gymnastics by definition. (edit to your its overpowered response. he lets the bots use the minigun, which is WAY more powerful then this is.

I don't really see how it being his mod and him having the choice over how he makes it is mental gymnastics. Sure, listening to the community is a good thing, but he can release it to the public all he wishes. I'm sure I and plenty of others would be more than willing to teach you how to do some modding, most of us took it up to make stuff that we thought would be fun in the game. It's actually not all that hard once you get used to it!

Everybody here is just saying it's his mod and he can do what he wants with it, there's no mental gymnastics going on that I can see. He's not mandated by the community to add something in, and acting on a moral high horse is guaranteed to entice them not to add in something. I highly doubt you'll ever get the toggleable option after what's gone on so far and I don't mean that in a rude sense.
He felt the weapon was too powerful in the hands of the bots, and so decided against them using it. He chose what he thought was best for the mod and so released it. Just get another machine gun mod for the bots, there are over 500 entries for 'machine gun' if you apply it to the search bar and tick the weapons box.

its a litterall toggable option absolutely no one is hurt by it. infact everyone can benefit from it since everyone gets what they want. restrticting such a thing only tells me you dont like people using things their way which makes you are control freak.

People take the time and effort into a mod to have it the way they like it and you just shit on him because he doesn't want to enable bot support. Its his decision, leave him be. If you think telling modders how to handle their mods is appropriate... no it's fucking not, just go on and search for another modder that obeys your comments ffs.

Or he just enjoys his work and wants to share it to the public; he's the mod author, and mod authors aren't tried down by many restrictions on what they can or can't do when it comes to the community. Listening to them can be helpful, but it's not required as it's just a fan-made mod. Most of us took up modding so we could make our own stuff to have fun with and thought that releasing it to the community would be fun, that's what I did with my Napoleonic stuff. I thought how fun it would be to have some skins fit with the musket, and then realized people would enjoy them too.
