this problem could be easily fixed with only 6 custom sounds, each an octave apart and then using the ambient_generic's pitch to do the rest
Pinhead Larry 5.12.2020 klo 11.52
The problem is that because the pitch can only go as high as 255, and because it cant be more precise than an integer, you're stuck with a small range of notes because the low ones will be very hard to distinguish the difference between and the high ones are over 255
Pinhead Larry 5.12.2020 klo 11.36
the formula for your ambient_generic pitch is 100*2^(n/12) where n is the number of keys from the start key (the one with 100 pitch value)

I just checked again and here is how I did it: I have a single ambient_generic. When you press a button it changes the pitch to the corresponding height, and plays the sound after that.
The Far left white key sets it to 25 for example, the far right white one to 235.

Whites have a 5 difference between them, blacks are 2 or 3 higher than the next left white key.

I am not sure why it is not working for you but try changing the pitch only hwne the key is pressed like I did.

I'm trying it on a map to test my number, but when I change the "pitch" and "starting pitch" properties on my ambient_generics, they all just play with default pitch
Pinhead Larry 4.12.2020 klo 18.06
What is the name of the point entity used to emit the sound? I want to view its properties my self
Crashington  [tekijä] 4.12.2020 klo 11.15
@pinhead larry The way i did it in hammer was that i had the base sound (which is some half life elevator sound) and then used the pitch property to set a pitch from 0 to 255. So i just winged it and had the difference between whites be 4 and the difference between white to black be 2 or something like that. If you have an idea on how to convert this 0-255 to actual notes id definitly take it :D

Do you want to know how to tune the piano correctly? It looks like you assigned every white key to be one semitone higher than the last and made each black key use the same tone as the white key below it

Got it to work

mafioso buy css
Crashington  [tekijä] 6.8.2020 klo 12.24
@Mafioso you need Counter Strike Source assets. (You will need them for most TTT maps) There are many tutorials online on where to get them and how to install them.

The map is missing textures, what do I need?
