update plz

Maybe the Xsotans actually attack *way more* if you have a higher Omicron/Shield to Hull ratio? Since they're attracted to high energy signatures, and don't seem to be the type to be intimidated

Can you make a version of this for Xsotan as well please
Pisaka 20 Nov, 2022 @ 9:13am
its super now!
Valck  [author] 19 Nov, 2022 @ 5:42am
Thank you for spotting, should (hopefully) be fixed now.
Pisaka 19 Nov, 2022 @ 12:44am
@Valck
its almost worked.
there is another line with same problem:
console is ok during "initialization" message
there is spam while pirate raiding: check line 211

Format string elements have been substituted, let me know if the issue persists.
Valck  [author] 18 Nov, 2022 @ 4:39am
%F and %T format strings are defined in C99 strftime [en.cppreference.com], which is how Lua is supposed to parse them according to its own manual, although I didn't read the actual sources of the Lua interpreter.

I'll see about replacing them, just to be safe.

@Valck
win 10
i guess it about lua, not OS. F and T is not in acceptable list: https://www.lua.org/pil/22.1.html
but i never used lua before, so not sure about its underhoods
Valck  [author] 17 Nov, 2022 @ 9:29am
@Pisaka
Thank you for reporting, but I can't reproduce on my end, it works as intended here.
What OS are you using?
Pisaka 15 Nov, 2022 @ 10:35am
its spam to logs messages like
line 206 bad argument #1 os.date("!%F %T %Z")

Updated to Avorion 2.2 compatibility, tested and confirmed working on local dedicated server. Let me know if there are any issues. This took way longer than expected ;)

To modify the message I just posted..

So I can force enable on my end, though haven't tried SP server. The server won't allow it by default because of a version difference, however, it allows it if its forced and seems to start up fine, but no one can connect to said server. We end up getting an error saying could not load a mod. It doesn't say this mod specifically, but disabling it allows people to join once again.

The error given on initial startup whether forced or not:

`2160430864 is problematic: Mod 'VK Less Frequent Pirate Attacks' [2160430864]'s base game requirement (0.0 to 1.3.*) doesn't match version 2.2.2 of the game.`

@Lancer_Vance
What do you mean "won't run on servers"? Because of the version mismatch, or does it throw actual errors?
I have never tested it on a standalone server, so I have no idea if it ever worked there, but also no reports by other users that it wouldn't.

I'm currently not playing with mods myself, so actual testing is very limited (read: non-existant).
I have looked over the code and as far as I can tell, it should still work OK.

Considering there haven't been any calls for tar and pitchforks yet, it's probably safe to force-enable it, but if you're concerned about stability or save file corruption, it certainly wouldn't hurt to give it a try in a parallel universe first.

Needs an update, at least perhaps a version update to 2.2, won't run on servers and I'd rather not force activation.
Valck  [author] 14 Sep, 2021 @ 2:25am
This mod is not yet confirmed to work with 2.0, although it should , from the limited testing I have done.

@Avarant, I don't think that's something I want to tackle.

From as technical perspective, the event gets triggered every X minutes; I then simply filter out X out of Y attempts, so it still "happens" at the default intervals, but most of the time, the pirates just won't show up.
I'd need to look into increasing the frequency of the event itself -- if that is even possible -- which is something I currently have no intention of doing.
Avarant 13 Sep, 2021 @ 6:44pm
I don't suppose there's a More Frequent option? Or could you release the info on how to make it myself? :)
jaeger972 27 Sep, 2020 @ 8:35am
thanks
this mod has been quite usefull
Valck  [author] 27 Sep, 2020 @ 7:12am
@jaeger972, no, it only affects the random periodic NPC pirate attacks.
jaeger972 27 Sep, 2020 @ 3:43am
does this work for xsotan as well?
