If you still work on this i got some ideas for improvement:

you could make the xp bar/level be darkrp money or whatever money system
and show the secondary ammo on item bar as the item count, like in minecraft, and then the durability could be primary ammo

Ooo, nice! Are you still going to be using the font for the text, or do you plan on switching that out for images (since you did mention making it compatible with Minecraft resource packs).

In case you do decide to keep the font, a size of 44 times the local scale variable seems to almost perfectly match the 4x4 pixel size of the textures (not 48 though weirdly enough, even though that is what 12x4 equals to). Oh yeah, and you can use DrawTexturedRectUV for the XP bar, and then straight up use the Java Edition textures for the XP bar, as well as.. you know what, I can just send you my modified version in case you wanna diff the modified 'sh_mc_hp_hud.lua' to the workshop version of this.

I imagine what you're working on is being done from scratch, but Idk maybe it could still be of use to have some reference.

I'll probably be including those effects in the remake. I'm planning to get it as close to 1:1 as I can, including oxygen, food (if applicable for the gamemode) and absorption hearts (For when players go above a certain treshold)

I've actually spent the past hour or so trying to combine your mod and the accurate Minecraft HUD mod (that only has health and armour) while also trying to make the GUI textures and such more accurate to MC. Not planning to upload it or anything, just doing it for personal use, really.

Maybe you could try getting in contact with that mod's creator to see if you could do something like that officially? Idk very good luck though

Haha, thanks on bringing that up for me. I've been playing around recreating this with direct Minecraft resource pack support and better scaling. (And just improvements in general.)

Found it in the mod's LUA folder.

mchud_scale (default 1, multiplier on scale - 0.75 looks about right for Normal scale on 1366x768)
mchud_autoscale (default 0, as said in the LUA file: "Scales (or at least attempts to) the HUD based on your screen resolution")
mchud_dynamicUpdate (default 1, "Toggles dynamic updating of Items in the toolbar (Suggested to leave this on unless you're having severe performance issues)")
