In what file leader's religion is set?

to be fair 18 years is a pretty insignificant gap compared to Cleopatra and her units/buildings. I think civ games are a bit too vague in their immortal god-king's timeline than to worry that much about historical date accuracy compared to other games

Willem of Orange died 18 years before the Dutch East India Company was founded. For that reason, it may not be a very suitable leader ability. If you want a Dutch leader who was in power during the height of the Dutch Empire you should look at Johan van Oldebarnevelt, Prins Maurits, Johan de Wit or Stadhouder Willem 3.

Is it normal I get missing texts like LOC_IMPROVEMENT_POLDER_DESCRIPTION? Do I need the Dutch DLC for the mod to work correctly?

Maybe WIlliam can despise those who make use of inquisitors and declares holy wars and like civs that allow other religions into their empire. I like your loyalty, but I think that a culture bonus would be more apropiate. Perhaps he could also get the Sea Beggars as an Unique Leader Unit

@maxhoekstra98 I agree with your sentiment. However, William died in 1584 and the VOC (East India Company) was founded in 1602. A personal agenda could do something with tolerance of religion and freedom of rule. Perhaps something with a bonus from different religions and no negative loyalty from foreign religions (as part of it).

I feel like he's a bit too strong. Not overwhelmingly so but he pretty much outclasses Wilhelmina in every way. I would recommend removing culture from his bonus so he can be the clear science victory focused leader and she the clear culture focused one. Otherwise he looks good, just with the culture bonus I feel like there's too much overlap with Wilhelmina.

I think it would be cool if you added Thoedora as an alternate leader for rome

I love to see William again, but his ability nor agenda are really fit. William should be more focused around gaining culture the more religions there are in your empire to refelct the culture of tollerance that came about the 80 Years War. Hell the East Indian Company was created almost a 100 years after his death.

As it stands now the abilities and agenda better fit William III, King of England (who was also Stadlholder of the Dutch Republic, also known as William of Orange) or his Prime Minister Johan de Witt.

@McDuck: The point is add animated and voiced leaders. There are a small handful of modded voiced and animated leaders for Civ V and I might possible convert one or two of them, but the focus will be on the Firaxis made ones first.

No, those were Civ V mods that added those leaders. Are you only adding the mainline leaders that appear by default in the game (w/o adding mods)?

@McDuck these series of leaders came from the previous Civilization (the fifth), and there was not such leaders

So gratefull that you made him one of the first you did.
Just had a game with civ V Askia and Darius animated in them and they worked perfectly.
And now my favorite civ V leader is back :) I already used a mod that had a static version, but this one is so much better.

I gotta be honest... you did a great job with the model (amazing really)... but his ability and agenda make no sense whatsoever.

I mean... you probably already know this, but William had nothing to do with the Dutch East India Company (he wasn't even alive when it formed) and he surely had no special interest on trade.

The guy was essentially a politician and military leader that rebelled against the Spanish over autonomy and religious prosecution. His bonuses should focus on at least some of those aspects.

I'm very glad to see that you are doing this; thank you very much for this. There were so many civilizations that were left out of Civ VI that were voiced/animated in Civ V.

Do you plan to port any other civilizations/leaders? If so, do you have a roadmap for that?

I agree, the modders who are cranking up new civs like champions maybe should work together with those who repackage the excellent Civ V animations.

As for the rules, I feel some of these Civ V reborn leaders are a bit unbalanced.

the only reason maya and colombia look the way they do is mostly due to them having no access to a model for motion capture. You can see it with Simon Bolivar his new animations are a bit choppy and look odd. So one Friaxis is able to use mo-cap we will be stuck with old animations

@this is animation artwork from Civ 5 while Maya's one is made from scratch. Don't get me wrong though, it is still amazing.

And seems I can play Wu Ze Tian very soon as the super releasing pace goes...

Suddenly I feel like are those guys who made Maya too lazy? They spend months without a new animation of Maya(Maya=Nubia) while Deliverator can release one animation per day...How could you manage this, incredible!

@acrf4 Why not? The ability and agenda are the same, it's the same historical figure, but it updates the artwork. Sounds reasonable to me.

So, this is kinda like the one by Gedemo, regarding the ability and agenda.
Why not make his mod the base for this mod? :)
