Tinkering the game files, one time out of twenty, it works all the time ! I know the place lol But well, I have your mod in my modlist, so you’re a modder to me ! ^^
Internet never forgets indeed ! And if you would not have the same picture, I would have never noticed ! But I saw it and immediately knew I’ve seen it somewhere… Then I’ve been notified of your answer, and got mine ^^ funny coincidence !
I'm not really a modder (or at least, I keep saying that to myself) and never fully understood the Civ 6 modding. I just tinkered a bit until it either worked (like this mod) or failed (when I tried to do the same with the disaster cinematic). I've also often tried to change something in the game's files, and that failed to do what I wanted very often.
No worries about the stalking, it's funny to see how long the internet remembers us :-)
The issue when saving a configuration is that it also manages mods, I think.
Here is the topic where I found you, if Steam accept the link : ( I swear I’m not stalking, it was pure coincidence ! lol ) https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/how-do-i-mod-default-values-for-create-game.604550/
Though, You were trying to make it a mod, it’s out of my reach, I’m mostly curious to know how it went ! I was hoping I could simply change the game’s setting file, but No matter what I try it doesn’t work.
Anyway, it’s not like it just takes a few second to change each time, I can live without xD Or I also could stop changing my modlist for once !
I see only one change from the default file, so I presume both effects are managed at the same time, sadly. It’s probably doable but not without coding more.
That was nick picking anyway, I’d prefer keeping it, but it’s a small price to pay, it’s still better like that. I love the game’s cinematic and all, but the more I play the more I think it’s too much ^^
Thanks for your attention, and the mod !
Oh, by the way, I think I felt on you in a forum, I was googling how to customize the default settings when creating a game ! Did you ever found out the right way, if you can slightly remember ? Nothing I tried worked !
I checked the files, just in case I would be able to see what’s wrong myself ;
It was simply conflicting with another mod… It still works as expected, my bad !
