The first item in the steam workshop rules lists
"Do not upload addons with malicious elements - All addons containing any sort of exploits or backdoors will be removed. This includes ... forcing people to be connected to different servers against their will, crashing or otherwise preventing the player from using the addon in private or on their servers. Doing so will get your account permanently banned from the Garry's Mod Game Hub!"

I'm assuming doing stuff like that is against the Steam Workshop''s TOS or something...?

the tl;dr of it was that the OP Setro pissed off the guy who uploaded it and he hardcoded setro's ID into the code so it disconnected his client whenever he joined a server with wire extras, It's in the github history about 7 years ago

Turns out the Reddit post got deleted, and it's not on the Wayback Machine.

It's because commit 49ba08b removed these from wire extras and added them to base wiremod, I'll update it to reflect that

It seems this addon breaks expression2 holoSetPose(n,s,n) such that poseparameters do not work with holoAnim(n,s)

Odd... It's working again now... I will continue testing things to see if I can reproduce this.

It's strange though since I wasn't getting the error yesterday, and it's not just the dupped mics that are broken. Even newly spawned microphones are broken.

It's possibly advdupe2 issue since you only get that problem after a duplication, you should try reporting it to https://github.com/wiremod/advdupe2/issues

The microphone component was working fine yesterday when I was using the Advanced Duplicator 2 tool in my dedicated server, however today, every time I spawn a microphone in with a dupe, it gets permanently disabled. Even updating the component doesn't work as it remains disabled.

If I spawn in a new microphone with the microphone tool, it isn't marked as disabled until I wire the ON input. However, upon observation, it appears as though the component is not working at all, even when it doesn't say "(disabled)" when looking at it.

Why are my microphones disabled? Literally all that changed was someone joined my dedicated server, and now all of my mics in my base that were spawned with my Advanced Duplicator 2 tool are marked as disabled and refuse to function.

Literally, Wiremod is already a small community, and shit like that ruins it.

As someone who is skilled in advanced computer science security measures and precautions, I find when I'm usually digging around GMAs, that a lot of addons sadly have absurd backdoors that anyone can use...
