i'm currently modding star systems myself and ran into the issue that i couldn't go beyond 7 stars per system. Did you run into the same restriction and if yes do you know what causes it?
But this is not a mod problem, the same result will be without it.
I am testing new version dozens of times with 13 opponents (together with mod «All AI» and without it). There is no any problems.
Are you using any other mod which changed galaxy generation settings? Is this mod at the very bottom of the list?
I admit that “Diverse Specials and Massive Planets” is not compatible, it makes a lot of changes to same files. I don't use it because I prefer “Realistic specials”
I'm sorry for long delay, version 1.3 with compatibility fix is available now.
Due to the fact that the size of star systems with up to 7 planets was larger than the standard, with complex initial settings of galaxies, this could cause a hang during generation.
I reduced the radius of the orbits and made the size of the planets slightly smaller. Now all is ok. In addition, this mod become fully compatible with any other mods (including "5x" and "All AI"). To work correctly with other mods, it must be placed at the bottom of the list of mods.

Nothing else of particular interest in the output_log unfortunately.
Will try to figure out what other mod might be conflicting since I only run about 10 very simple mods and the usual 5X UCP DSMP ST TM RMC must-have set...

same setup: 5X -> UCP -> 5XUCPC -> 5X assets -> 7 planets mod.

In most cases, even a long wait does not solve the problem.
There are two additional files that ensure the correct generation of galaxies for this mod, regardless of using the "5X" series mods or not.
I used as base part of mod "All AI + 5X Galaxies" from Spud Dastardly ( https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1179207859 ) and made compatibility tweaks.

Some of the galaxy settings specified in the ModelledGalaxyData.yaml file, such as the need to fit a certain number of star systems into a specified zone, with a certain configuration of links between them and to save minimum distances between players. A large number of players, neutrals and monsters, and even with a slightly increased diameter of galaxies of this mod (to accommodate additional planets) can cause difficulties in generating galaxies. The computer repeatedly tries to accommodate all this in compliance with rules, but each one does not fit something.
To completely eliminate hangups, need to make changes to the above file, and then this mod will no longer be compatible with 5X.
You can quickly check whether the hanging problem is caused by the complexity of the galaxy settings by reducing the number of computer players. Try to choose, for example 3 AI for large galaxy. Is it ok in this case?
i also tried this MOD for realistic planet and game stucked in 100% during first time generation of large map also. normal map works fine

i have just UCP + reliastic species, civilization, galaxy and planets
there is discussed some DSMP, but i do not have it ...
some workaround (or patch? :)

hmm thats a hard decission...more planets or more different specials on planets.

You need to check two things, as written below:

2. If the download freezes anyway, just after that, put somewhere to examine file c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Master of Orion\MasterOfOrion_Data\output_log.txt
after i deacitvated this mod it works.

К сожалению, с Massive Planets не работает (как я понял, Mordachai использовал версию без массивных планет, так что и конфликта не было). Возможно, тут какую-то роль сыграл и 5X.
Ну, всё равно, проработка описания Realistic Specials мне больше понравилась — попробую с ним. Жаль только массивные планеты. Ради них и ставил DSMP.

I've been playing with this - and with the realistic galaxy & realistic minors and am enjoying it on medium maps - average settings.
One thing that has consistently seemed odd to me - most small / tiny planets have normal gravity - and often large and huge also have normal.
Seems like - on average - size of planet and gravity ought to scale together.
That's not something this mod does (nor the realistic galaxy)?
I have been playing with this - and the DSMP - Zero - as you suggest - using these at the absolute bottom of the load order - and it's been working well. That gives all of the special planet modifiers without apparently breaking anything you've designed, which is perfect!

If you don't like a lot of micromanagementб you can select "Low" in the "Planet density by star" parameters when generating a galaxy. In this case, there will be the usual number of planets.

Сила гравитации зависит от двух параметров - размера планет (чем меньше - тем более вероятна низкая гравитация) и минерального богатства (чем беднее - тем вероятнее, что планета будет с низкой гравитацией).
Этот мод никак не изменяет вероятность гравитации от размер планеты и минерального богатства.
Возможно, в сгенерированной галактике было много молодых звезд (синих и белых), которые содержат преимущественно богатые минералами планеты, и, соответственно, даже карликовые планеты имеют нормальную гравитацию
Seems fair. We lose massive worlds for more worlds overall?
I like the realistic stars, but worry that this will create lots of little things that require a lot of micro management to grow as the game progresses.
one thing that would be really nice is to have this work with or also have the diverse specials.

К примеру, играя за псилонов и гноламов несколько матчей, обратил внимание, в среднем примерно только 20-30% карликовых планет имели низкую гравитацию.
В основном у них нормальная.
Как мне кажется, было бы логично подправить, чтобы карликовые планеты в большинстве случаев имели низкую гравитацию, как вы считаете ?
