It's just not marked as compatible, but it should just work. I am not playing Rimworld ATM, but it will just straight up work, just enable it.

It's an extremely simple patch, it should work for 1.4. I'll probably get back to Rimworld soon-ish, I'll check if it's 100% working and mark it compatible then.

Heat Waves and Cold Snaps change the temperature up or down by 15°C if I remember correctly. I don't know if world temperatures affect that. Try this mod instead: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2042689053&searchtext=Cold+Desert+Nights

how much will the temperature drop with a sharp cold snap? It can drop to - 70° if you select very cold in the settings of the world?

Yes, otherwise the condition you set will not be a real option and it will just error out.

I haven't tested it in 1.3, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. It's a very very simple patch operation (look at the Github link, it's literally trivial). Try it out!

1.3 has it so that theres a way to make it hot or cold, i guess you can make it freeze or melt if you wanted to do that

You most likely have a conflict with something else that messes with the Heat Wave and Cold Snap conditions. I personally have the mod running with no crashes.

This seems to be crashing my game by virtue of subscription. Trace mentions stuff about ModManager. If I remove this mod from subscriptions, game doesn't crash.

@Meerni Cannot think of any reason why that would be. This mod does not do any code modifications, it only patches a very tiny portion of a XML file that's read before the game even begins. Another one of your mods is breaking it.

@freshisat you cant set it up inside the scenario editor, however when your playing you can open the dev mode and manually cause cold snaps

@freshisat Sadly, no, the game simply does not allow it, at least I haven't seen a way to do it.
If you want more cold (or heat), I suggest the Cold Desert Nights mod, which let's you customize the temperature to your hearts content, on a per biome basis.

@thigh highs I merely ported this mod, and it was quite simple since "heat wave" and "cold snap" were already game conditions. Rain and stuff aren't, they're weather. I don't know of anything that changes that.

Max cold world highest elevation in the most northern or southern parts of the world. Have permanent cold snap and volcanic winter. I imagine it'll be colder than that even now that I have more events and can have the ice age event perm also.

@Black★Rock Shooter If don't know if you'll be able to reach -218°C with a cold snap, however, do try out a mod called Cold Desert Nights. Despite the name, it let's you customize temperatures for every biome, including difference between day and night and also a base offset.
