bro your level design is amazing, i'm so sad it isn't finished because it is PEAK gaming, and the cutscenes between levels were funny and refreshing, please don't stop making campaigns ever

Great levels, I honestly didn't expect any story, but I actually enjoyed it, even if it didn't make any sense.
I like how it starts super easy, then becomes much more difficult. Normally I hate Biker levels, but the ones you made were actually very cool.
Having put so much time into Hotline Miami 2, I'm surprised I never stumbled across this. Good stuff man :steamthumbsup::TheRooster:

Thought that could be what you meant. I wouldn't bother trying to add an extra 30 levels to this campaign. It isn't worth the hassle, you are better off making something smaller because even creating 30 levels takes some time. Quality over quantity, I tried to do both and it took me hundreds of hours and a lot of patience.

What you are playing includes basically everything I worked on. There are no 30 bonus levels lying around I'm afraid. I made one level at a time until it became too unstable to work with.

The only things that I worked on that didn't get added were unused boss sprites and some weird level involving Hammer and 6 enemy factions. But don't get too excited all of it was very WIP.

However I am probably not going to do anything with this campaign, it was just a test to see how far I could push the editor really. I know this probably wasn't what you wanted to hear but hopefully you enjoyed the campaign nevertheless. :TheRooster:

Holy hell that was good. Easily the longest I've ever spent on a campaign. I really like the story even if it is unfinished. Most of the levels were superb, but Paradox was a bit of a clusterfuck. Easy 9/10, I really hope you finish it!

This is incredible. I've spent around 3 1/2 hours completing the entire campaign. I liked it, now waiting for you to finish it. I recommend this to everyone.

I'd like to weigh in on Paradox since it seems to be a widely enjoyed level.

As a concept I like it, fighting through the same floor over and over while things get more hectic and the scenery becomes more messed up is interesting, although more could be done with the idea to really sell it.
However, the core level design straight up sucks. It's far too cramped and instead of making any fun engagements you just shove more and more enemies into it and rely on special enemies to force "difficulty" which in turn just makes your level plain unfun. The best kind of difficulty is done through challenging engagements, not stacking 20 enemies on top of each other and calling it a day.

It ultimately forces the player to play like a coward by peeking corners and baiting enemies which is objectively the worst way to play the game. Look to the second game's story and draw inspiration from Dennaton's levels as they're the best point of reference we have.

I'm surprised people liked Paradox, though it was one of two levels with the "Very Hard" rating so maybe that has something to do with it. If I had of went for 100 levels then trust me it would have gotten even harder.

When making levels I tried to make them fair. But usually fair = easier. Though I think I underestimated the community. If I knew that then I might have just made every level harder.

The sheer size of the campaign is just.. Wow. That being said, most of the levels at the beginning were extremely short, and I mean like 20 seconds! A few levels at the end had really challenging difficulty and I loved paradox - a good idea that was also well done.
But I don't understand the "story" at all. How does it have any relation at all to the gameplay? Is everything just scenes from the movie, like all of it?

Paradox is probably one of my favorite levels out of this collection because it actually pissed me off and love the idea of going through the same room over and over and over, but at the same time its not that great of a level. The last few levels were good United to the last level. Some of the levels feels like you just fart them out in a few seconds. While others you gave it your best. (like the final levels). Like I know this is a collection but still 70 LEVELS! I still baffles me that it is that much. It should last for about 10 max for a campaign and when I played it and played like 15 levels through I wanted to get it over with I played over 45 levels in my first play through and never wanted to play a hotline level ever again. I recommend anyone who plays this only playing the last few levels and not all of the whole collection. I also like Pardo story, doesn't make sense but it's cute. 6/10

Download the music mod from the link I provided. Then go into steamapps/common/HotlineMiami2 and take out the folder called hlm2_music_desktop.wad and put it somewhere safe. Then add in my hlm2_music_desktop.wad.

Level design was odd, especially in first 10 levels. Interior is way better in the second half (which shows that campaign have been created for a long time). For me, Soldier's levels are the best from the pack because of the difficulty that was set (or because they're recreated from original HM2 campaign). Custom sprites are not helping in such situation. Overall, making campaign with focusing on count is a bad idea.
