Ok, one crash course in how to move parts around on the model and the door outlines are restored, now minus the gap big enough to stick your hand through.

e: on a closer look it turns out the same artifact (doors are very, very slightly misaligned) is present on the original too, but the body is the same colour as the visible part of the interior making it almost invisible. Probably not too hard to fix...

I had actually done that! Unfortunately I couldn't get it to line up properly on the middle car (it seemed to shift everything a few pixels over) which made it look terrible. Maybe next week...

you should detail the edge of the doors so the side of the train doesnt look like a continuous slab, otherwise this is pretty cool :)
