Loaded this mod but it doesn't seem to work on my Steam games on Mac. I found the settings file and it says Town Development Active = False. Towns still seem to develop. Should I try to change it to true?

You have to load the mod and change the setting. Then city development will be activated again. See the link for the (deprecated) mod setting system. Either use CommonAPI or the manual way by editing the settings.lua file.

Alternatively, use the CommonAPI console and enter in Script Thread:

Please explain to me more what to do to make the buildings start to build again, because I removed the mod from the map, I entered 10 times and still nothing, I even uninstalled this mod, but also buildings do not build. Seit dem Finalen Update baut die KI trotzdem Häuser u.s.w. - was kann ich machen damit das nicht funktioniert.

I finally did it. Phew. If anyone needs help doing this let me know. You do need to have the mod installed but have development turned off.

I only recommend using this mod if you REALLY don't want any further development, for instance, if your game is lagging. Do not use it to stop certain buildings being built, you can use other mods that will put placeholders in, or you can put a asset building in the place. Unfortunately the game will still build all buildings. This is why a mod is needed that enables users to disable particular buildings from being built, or at the very least, one that enables free demolition.

The information of active/inactive town development is indeed saved in the savegame - but my instruction below explain how to reverse the effect of this mod.

Per other comments, this mod is NOT REMOVABLE. You can follow the author's instruction to find the folder and change the true/false instruction, you can remove the mod from a save game, you can uninstall it, you can even delete the mod folder, throw it in the trash and empty the trash - BUT IT'S STILL THERE when you load the game. It's like a growth you cannot cut out, ever.

hi, is it possible to add a mod that makes some buildings invisible?
I downloaded this mod because i wanted to build an historical town, with assets, but i had to demolish big buildings, cuz it passed through them.
This mod only stops the cities from growing.

This mod is old and using the "old modding settings". If you dont have CommonAPI, change the setting manually in the settings.lua file from 'false' to 'true'. You find this setting file in the folder of this mod, sth like C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1066780\2044636379

As described, activate the checkbox of the settings, either by using commonapi or the manual way with editing the settings.lua file.
The stdout should include a line saying towndevelopment true/false

Do you know if it's possible to create a mod that would block AI from demolishing individual buildings? I want to keep a 'historical centre' in my towns but there is no way to do that because AI will just replace all old buildings with new ones if I allow it to build newer buildings...

I can't be more precise. I enable development through API, load the game, save the game... then disable mode before loading... but every town say that number of citizens is stable.

Also die MOD ist dann wohl auch eine Möglichkeit ... ich hab bisher immer bei einer neuen Map alles was an Straßen, Städten und Industrie da war abgerissen und dann alles selbst Manuell gebaut ... zu beginn ist da dann immer nix los mit Bewohnern ... aber dank Besuchermagneten und Häusern mit Kapazitäten dauert das in etwa zwei drei Tage an Spielzeit - oder so zehn Ingame-Jahre - bis dann die ersten Bewohner ankommen ... also ab da gerechnet wenn die erste Stadt dann fertig ist mit Wohnungen, Geschäften und Mini-Industrie ^-^

Wenn diese Mod aktiv ist, stürzt das Game unmittelbar nach dem Laden der Karte ab, egal ob Savegame oder neues Game. Schade 😒

Problem hat sich erledigt. Ich habe eben nochmal die Lua geändert und savegame mit und ohne der mod geladen. nach einer Weile hat die KI wieder angefangen zu bauen

Den Fall hatten wir doch letztens schonmal. Setting geändert und mit Mod wieder das Savegame geladen? Ne weile beobachten, Städte entwickeln sich nicht immer sofort. Mit Sandbox Editor Änderungen testen. Ansonsten brauch ich ne stdout.

Und die Settings LUA umzuändern brachte auch nichts...
